Default Canned potatoes? I've never used these....

but what able to get some cheap at Meijer this week, so I picked up some to try. I made up potato soup for lunch and just cut them smaller in the can and am wondering if anyone uses these and if you have any good recipes or advice? It sure made it quicker than having to cook potatoes.

Thanks,
Kristine

We use them as well in soups mostly. Just throw it in if your making a beef soup or chicken noodle, etc. I love that they are pre-peeled and cut. You can't beat the convenience.

I've not used them lately. However, I have diced them up with some onion/pepper.... and fried them like hashbrowned potatoes. I've sliced them thinly and made scalloped potatoes. I'm sure you could mash them too.

You could use them along with burger in a casserole. Maybe with some chedder soup or cream of broccoli. Just slice and layer with browned burger... cover with soup... put in oven.

They are quick and although pretty high in salt. I think they are far less processed than instant pototoes.

They are good to use with Ham, Green Beans, and Potatoes in the Slow Cooker.

I fry them up with canned meat and onions for "hash". Quick and easy meal.

I've never bought these, but I'm thinking I need to after reading what you all have made with them.

Chop them in the can and fry them in EVOO with onion, salt and pepper. Add some diced ham, 4 eggs whisked with a splash of milk, and a small can of green chilis. Scramble to desired doneness. We either eat it straight up on a plate with some pico de gallo or wrap it in gently warmed tortillas for a tasty breakfast burrito.

I have to make this now. sans milk (allergic) and use corn tortillas. I think my stomach just growled.

We like canned potatoes for kabobs on the grill. They seem to hold up better than regular potatoes & cook through nicely!!
