Question Freezing waffles?

Ok so I have been wanting to do this for a while but I don't know how they would turn out. Can you freeze home made waffles and or they good like that? Do they get soggy? Thanks!

I don't see why you couldn't. My SIL makes extra pancakes and freezes them. She'll pop them in the toaster on a light setting and re-heats them, that takes care of the sogginess.

We freeze homemade waffles all the time. I just put them in a freezer liplock back and then we take them out and toast them as needed. In fact, I had some this morning and they were good. Since I toast them out of the freezer, they don't get soggy.

Same for us. I always make a double batch so that I can have frozen waffles for breakfasts later. Pop them in the toaster just like the store bought ones. My husband likes them a little softer so sometimes he puts his in the microwave for a few seconds. Much, much cheaper that way and I can whole wheat flour to them to make them a little healthier.

Yep, freeze waffles here too. Or if I make enough just for the week, I keep them in a zip on the counter a day or two then the fridge.

Default I freeze

I also freeze waffles (and pancakes). I like to freeze them individually then freeze them. It seems to keep them from sticking to one another.

Thank you for all the responses! Now that I know me and the kids will mbe making up several batches this weekend. They love to make them so they will have fun! Plus I hate cleaning the waffle make so I can make 4 batches or so and freeze and only have to clean once!!! YAY!!!

I haven't made waffles in a long time. Thanks for reminding me. I'm going to make them tomorrow am and definetly will make extras to freeze. A lot cheaper than buying Eggo's.

I freeze French Toast too! My son loves it, so I make a big batch and then he just microwaves it before school in the morning. I put just a dash of almond extract in it and a tiny bit of cinnamon. My kids go crazy over it.

I make mine the same way just about as you except I use vanilla extract. Didn't even think about freezing those!
