Default Potato chips cookies

With chips on sale I'm sure you'll have a stale one or two and they can be used up this way. Enjoy!

1 1/2 cup crushed chips
3 1/2 cups sifted flour (spoon into measuring cup and its ok)
1 lb margarine or butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup sugar

Mix all ingredients together. Drop unto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

makes about 4 dozen

yes.......I sold these for $2 a dozen back in 1974
It was my senior year in high school and I was a nanny to some rich folks, the lady was sweet and gave me the recipe and idea to sell at the country club (it was a private country club....Roaring Gap) boutique to make extra $$

Thank you for posting this recipe. I had never heard of these before. I did change the recipe. A lb of butter would be 4 sticks . I used whole wheat flour and 3 sticks of butter and doubled the vanilla. They still came out great and my kids loved them. They have a rich sweet, salty, buttery taste.

Default different!

Sounds good though...I like a sweet salty combo. Might even be deadly!

Chocolate covered potato chips are also very good....take ruffled chips and dip them halfway in melted semi sweet choc chips. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

What a great idea to get rid of stale potato chips!! Too funny. What do you think about adding a few chocolate chips? Sounds like a great cookie to take to a potluck! Thanks.

This is perfect. DS left a bag of chips opened and now they're stale. Thanks for the recipe.
