I've never made cube steak, but this is something that my grammie taught me. When dredging your meat, use Bisquick instead of flour. It just adds a little extra something to the flavor.

Default Cube Steak...

I dredge mine in a flour/dry onion soup mix first, then dip them in egg, then dredge them in another flour mix, you can whatever spices suit you, but I use paprika, salt, white pepper, and garlic powder. It's really yummy!

As a kid I loved Salsbury Steak so I make mine into what I call "Grown-up Salsbury Steak" - I dredge in flour and spice mixture(garlic pwd, celery salt, pepper, onion pwd) and sear in a little oil. Remove steaks and add chopped onions till tender then add worcestershire sauce, 3 TBS flour, 1-2 TBS. balsamic vinegar, 2 TBS ketchup and two cans beef broth. Put steaks back in pan and cover in 350 oven for 45 min.- 1hr. AWESOME!!

We tried the following recipe about six months ago and it has become our new favorite sandwich of all time. The flavor is fantastic. We now have it every couple of weeks. (we top ours with provolone or mozzarella cheese and then pop the sandwich in the toaster oven for a couple mins until cheese is melted) Its great with sauteed mushrooms and bell peppers too. The taste will knock you for a loop!

My traditional recipe is to sprinke on meat tenderizer and then wisk 2 eggs with salt and pepper. Dip the cube steak in the eggs then dip the steak in flour. Pan fry in canola or vegetable oil on a little lower than medium heat for at least 20 minutes to insure the steaks are not tough.

My aunt recently cooked them differently than I had ever seen and they were pretty tasty.
She used pork rub by Grilling Mates. She rubbed some of that on them, sprinkled a little garlic power and a little meat tenderizer on them then she rolled them around in some A1 steak sauce and pan fried them for around 20 minutes. They were very yummy. She says you can use whatever seasoning you have on hand such as steak seasoning, etc.

Usually I just do them like country fried steak floured and with gravy. My family also likes them just fried plain (just barely oil pan to keep from sticking) and when they're almost done, add cheese slices. They eat them like that or on a sandwich. But my favorite recipe with cube steaks is one I made up years ago.

Saute peppers, onions mushrooms (or whatever you like) add in italian style diced tomatoes and a can of tomato sauce. I doctor it up like spaghetti sauce seasoning. Or you could probably just use a jar of sp. sauce but I like the sauce thicker and homemade.
Brown the cube steaks pretty quick just on the outside--do not cook all the way through.
Put in 9X13 glass baking dish. Cover with sauce (you don't need to make a bunch of suace but you want enought to completely cover meat and be standing in the dish.) Bake for about 30 minutes on about 350 then cover with lots of shredded mozzerela cheese. Put back in oven til cheese melts completely.
Serve over white rice. The sauce with all of the dripping cheese is really good over rice.

Here is one I made a few weeks ago. It calls for something other than Cube Steak but that's what I had on hand. I left the Oyster sauce out of the sauce because I don't like it. Served it over rice and with Birdseye Steamfresh Asian Medley Veggies....very good.

Here's another one I really liked that does call for Cube Steak, I left the onions off.

We love to use cube steak for parmesean... instead of chicken, we just bread the cube steak, cook slowly and then top with sauce and cheese and serve over noodles! VERY VERY TASTY!

Not a traditional recipe but I buy cube steak all the time for fajita meat- worchester sauce and steak seasoning in a frying pan with peppers.

Or, I use worchester sauce and ketchup to make steak sandwiches with provolone. Very quick and easy.
