Entertainment Book Coupons and Ralphs

I went to Ralphs today and my total before my card was 76$. The manager (who was ringing me up) wouldn't take my Entertainment book 5 off 75 coupon. She said it had to be on the price after my card was scanned. I know someone else did it on the before price in the past and it worked. She wouldn't even try it when I asked. Which makes me think she knew it would have worked.
Does anyone know if she was right? It seems like she should have taken my coupon.

well i have that way too (coupon b4 club card) but it does say present your card with the coupon. but what dosent say the order in which they are swiped. So i guess it is YMMV
