Thank you for posting this. I e-mailed Publix about a year ago asking for a coupon policy and the store manager from our local store called me, and asked if I had a problem using a Q there. I explained what happened and he explained their policy to me, and told me that if I had any questions to feel free to request a manager the next time. He told me there was no official coupon policy, the management was able to enforce their own policies. Thanks for posting something in writing, its great to have something to reference when needed.

My Publix will not accept a Publix coupon and a Manufacture's coupon on 1 item. They told me it was ALWAYS their policy to only accept ONE coupon per item and you cannot combine coupons. The manager said it is posted in the back for the cashiers and they are really watching so no one stacks coupons.
I just emailed Publix and gave them the store number to email me their store coupon policy. Last edited by FLgirl; 12-20-2008 at 12:15 PM. |

First, let me say that I work for Publix, so I want to add a couple things.
I do not know the official corporate policy on requiring the penny item coupon or not (pretty sure there isn't one), but official STORE policies vary tremendously. I work at two stores, one that asks for the coupon and one that does not. Generally, it is set by that store's district manager (and if you ask to speak to a manager, you WILL get the item for a penny). Second "Atlanta" division means all stores in GA, AL, TN and the Carolinas so if you are outside of GA or metro Atlanta and are being given trouble on an "Atlanta division" policy, remind the cashier of this as they may simply not know. Generally, Publix is pretty easy to work with in terms of coupons. I know before I worked here, I always had an easier time getting them to accept my coupons than other competitors. |
