    Default Comments when buying multiples...

For the first time last week, I had a Publix cashier rub me the wrong way She said to me as she was scanning my coupons:

"You use EVERYTHING you buy, RIIIIGHT?".

I put emphasis on EVERYTHING because when she said that she said it loudly and very RUDELY! I was actually kinda stunned with her comment and so was the customer behind me in line. I kinda paused for a second after she said that, because I ALSO didnt want to come off rude and wanted to make sure I said something that made her feel at least "uncomfortable" about her comment. So I simply said: "Why would I buy things that Im not going to use?" and she responded with: "Oh. well..... ok"

    Then I got to thinking.....

What is it her business, what I do with the items I buy OR what I do with them? If I choose to buy all these things and burn them in my backyard, so be it...! lol

Keep in mind too, this particular trip I made had no more than 4 of one item, so its not like I cleared the shelves or anything. Further more I dont think I have ever in my life bought more than 8 of anything! and thats on RARE occasion.... I do completely understand that there are some that abuse the coupon policy by buying SEVERAL items (like cases) and then reselling somewhere, but again, even if they did that...is that really illegal if your using legitimate coupons? If theres a limit I would GLADLY obide by it and would never, ever wipe them clean of anything...however it is NO ones business what I do with what I buy from them!

    The end lol

Yeah, I had one cashier say "We really shouldn't be taking all these coupons. You could come in here and buy 100 or 200 jars of spaghetti sauce!" I was stacking, and purchasing... wait for it... 12, yes 12. It's like any number more than one is "stockpiling."

I just smiled and said "Do you have that many on hand?"

Wow, wonder if it's their job to make comments on what people are buying. Probably not...

i have not gotten any rude comments from cashiers at Publix (yet-LOL!), but I did have one ask me "just how many cake mixes did you buy? This was the week before Easter, and I got 22 boxes! I usually never buy that many of one item, but they were 55 cents apiece, and I was making my first run to donate to the food pantry that night. I just told her, "22, but they are not all for my family, I am going to donate to the food pantry later tonight. She smiled and was very nice about it.

The only time I had comments was when I bought a bunch of those Pizzas with those $3 off 2 coupons. I was so happy I was getting them for so little for the youth group at the church, I was about to do the happy dance in the checkout line. They wanted to take away my joy by being snarly, I gave them a coupon so they could get $3 off 2 as well.

Since I donate what we don't eat, use, or consume if I was asked that question I would answer it honestly. No we don't, we donate a lot to the food bank at our church, it's open on the first and third Saturday of every month if you know of anyone who needs help.

I have been asked if I am going to "eat" that much of a certain food if I buy over a dozen boxes also, and I've just smiled and said "My family will eat about half of it, and the other half I will donate to the local pantry." It's true, and how can they argue with that. Usually them smile back and said "I never thought of doing that."
