Smile hello everybody

Thank you for so many kind words. I never expected so many people to respond. first I must say, I spend many hours preparing my shopping trips. I am out of work for a year while waiting for my boss to hopefully recover from cancer. I do not qualify for workmans comp and yes the job is worth struggling thru. I have little money but I have plenty of time. First of all, I guess I go thru the bogo's at publix and collect any and every coupon I can find that will give me an item for free or almost free. second, i tend to make smaller trips, because I find the more coupons I have the more easily it is for the cashier to make a mistake. I have 3 publix's near me and I have a cashier at each store I try to use. I have found that some are just flat out better and easier to use. Gratefully, my stores never complain no matter how many or how many coupons you have. I use my overages to buy stuff I dont normally have coupons for. eggs, bread, etc. the food from publix pretty much determines our menu since most of the items are side items. my publix always accepts multiples of coupons and also graciously takes flips and target. I buy chicken breast on sale for 1.29 at Ingles and keep the freezer stocked. the children love ground chicken and ground turkey. I frequently get these marked down to .99. I only buy nitrate free bacon due to migraines and often find the really expensive kind marked down to .99 at Ingles. I dont buy much there due to their coupon policy. If Foodlion or kroger really has something worth my while, I will go. they are not close and not my favorite stores. I recently bought totino rolls for the kids for.25, which is something we dont normally by. the only reason we have snacks now, is so many are free or almost free at publix. I live in a rural area and we have a couple of salvage stores here. they use to be real good but they made changes and we pretty much quit going. I occasionally am able to buy produce in there ridicuously cheap. I try to feed my kids a healthy diet. lots of fruits and vegtables. nothing fried. no beans and taters and no soda. it helps that the children are at school all week so that helps out on breakfast and lunch. summers kill me, they eat so much. now, we have so much, they dont have to eat at school if they choose. they love oatmeal. This is hard for me right now, I have enough coming in but theres not much left over. my husband recently walked out so its just me trying to do everything. I normally dont have but about two hundred left for food, gas, clothes, school, emergencies. we are doing great. my boss replaced my blown out tire last week. one of my clients has started having me buy her groceries. she also has become a really great friend. her husband pays me to shop and to watch their kids sometimes. I found my faith. last week, i had car problems and needed to switch cars. couldnt. battery dead. night time, no flash light. grrrr. tears streaming down my cheeks. I gave up and went to bed. the next morning I still spent an hour and couldnt get it started. I stopped , took a deep breath ,remembered what my boss had told me and instantly got it started. We are doing great. If anyone wants to talk or write, just let me know. Lisa

As I said earlier, YOU ARE AMAZING! Life is giving you lemons and you are making lemonade. You are an inspiration, keep the faith. And keep posting your good finds, (and your shopping scenarios). You make all of us want to do better.
