How Wonderful!! I also have a family of 5 and there is no way I'm close to that amount but we are doing great. We're in the process of moving so hopefully when we're settled in our new place I'll be able to really concetrate on the savings. I'd love to be able to get down to $200/mo for all of us. They are teenagers and are always hungery...

Royalrouseau; I would love to know what type of meals you are making, and what type of meats you are getting. Maybe this would help me to reconsider some of what I am doing.

My Mom and her mother were always great at making something out of very little when I was small. I was also a huge fan of beans and cornbread, so the end of the month was great for me!

Unfortunately, I'm not so good at concocting something tasty from very little and I make terrible cornbread, so I'm very glad and grateful to have found this site and all the tips I find to keep my family fed well.

That is so great, I only have a a family of 3 and my total for last month was $546. That does include dog food, and paper products. I wish I could get it down some more, guess it just take time.

Default Awesome!

Several people felt inspired by your message and savings as do I. I think tracking is key....and using cash! I find I am much more conscious if I have to hand over cash rather than using my checkcard or writing a check. I plan to set a goal for the remainder of the month and next.

Thanks for sharing!!

I am grateful each and every day the two stores I frequent, never give me a hard time about the amount of coupons I use. Coupon ladies thank you so much for every tip, link and all the great advice you give me. we wouldnt have made it without you. in fact we have so Much stuff I am running out of places to put it. But my children are never hungry.
That is FANTASTIC!! I would love to get my OOP for the 3 of us somewhere even close to that!! You rock!!!!!

The folks on this forum are truly amazing. I wish everyone in my life were so supportive! I was able to donate a large bag of food to the food drive at my school all b/c of couponmom. Thanks.

You are very very good....the only way I could feed a family of 5 meat on $50 a month is with weinnies, chitlins, fatback. I thought I was doing good but now I don't know.

Don't beat yourself up. I see you are also in Florida, the land of no doubles. They DO double in GA, so maybe the OP is able to cash in on that a bit better than we can. Here in Tampa I rarely see great deals on meat, but when I do, I stock up. For example, one store had chicken leg quarters for .49/lb, and I loaded up. Needless to say, we at a lot of chicken that month.
