This Christmas, a lot of us are looking for creative gift ideas that are personal but not too expensive. Photo gifts could be the perfect solution. Does anyone have a great idea to share?

Default Free Photo Coupons at Walgreens

Last year I subscribed to the email newsletter for Walgreens photo center and was sent a coupon for a free 8 by 10 photo. I uploaded our family Christmas Card picture to the Walgreens photo site, then picked the 8 by 10 up at my local Walgreens that afternoon. The $3 print was free, and there was no shipping cost. I did buy an inexpensive frame at Walgreens, which is probably what they planned, but I ended up giving a very inexpensive and thoughtful gift to my father-in-law for less than $5. Not bad!

I made my 18 month old a photo book with pictures of her dad, the two of them together , her favorite stuffed animals and things she likes to do. I thought that when her dad travels she could look at the pictures. She loves loves loves this book and looks at it all the time. It also really gets her talking. It is best to use a cheaper book because it has been torn but has been well worth it.

What a great idea! Kids love to have a book where they're the main character! Also, it will be a fun book for both of you to look back at as she grows up.

Shutterfly has a sale going on right now with up to 30% off of photo books and free shipping for orders over $25 (use SHIP25 at checkout). Also, you can use the code SECRET3 and get a $10 future reward (on orders of $50 or more). These deals are in effect until midnight 12/3.

Have you thought of Photo books as gifts? I love to gift photo books to my friends and relatives. And I would suggest Photo Books | Digital Photo Album over others! They offer multiple options to create and design a photo book with photo setting ideas, beautiful backgrounds and excellent color options. Give it a try this holiday season. Enjoy your time! .

Default Photo idea - not v. cheap but sooo worthy

I wanted to scan old family pictures and give a CD to each of my aunt/uncles and to my mom. I got the negatives from my mom - some of them black and white!!- and looked into having them scanned by a company like ScanCafe or the likes.
After seeing the prices - and considering that I have over 400 strips of negatives - I decided to get an flatbed scanner with film scanning capabilities and do it myself. The scanner can be expensive, but I got a good deal on a decent scanner using Office Depot coupons. It pays for itself if you have lots of pictures and negatives to scan (think about your family's and your in-law's years of pictures).
I'm sure everyone is going to love the CD with hundreds of pictures from the last 50 years.

I had several hundred negatives that needed scanned to disk - I went to Target. They put them all on disk - it took about three days for them to call to get them - and it was only $1.99 per disk (Ask them for a Target Disk, not a Kodak). Then if you purchase a Target Photo Gift Card you get a percentage off (I think it was 30% - but don't quote me). I received 50 disks back in three days and it cost me about $75.

**Please note - I had a stack of negatives in no order. They scan them to disk however you give them. So I had to download and sort then re-save to my own disks in order

I love the idea of scanning old photos as a gift!

I often make photo calendars for grandparents. Right now there are several deals for photo calendars, photo ornaments, and photo stocking stuffers. You can see a list of the deals by clicking here

I'm going to get my Grandma a coffee mug with a picture of us on it. She will love it because I actually took her on vacation. That was last year, but she hasn't stopped talking about it. My Grandma is the best... I'm about to give her a call
