Well, yesterday I had my third and very last try at Dollar General, and I will never go back.
I went to their website and printed the STORE Qs, thinking I would have no problem,right? I went in with $18.00 in qs and asked the guy when I came up to the counter, "Do you want to scan the qs as you ring up, or have them all at the end?" He said he'd ring up as they went thru. No problem, right?
One thing has always bugged me about this store. You can't see anything-- totals, qs, nothing-- as you ring up. They don't want you to see their mistakes, I'm thinking.
So he rings me up, everything seems to scan....he hands me the receipt and says, "You saved $10.00 today!" I didn't even have to look at the receipt to say back to him, "That's great, but I had $18.00 in coupons."
I didn't want to hold up the line, so I walked out to my car and saw that they hadn't credited me for a BOGO on Jet Dry-- buy one, get a 12-pack of Finish tabe for free, and didn't credit the free Jell-O with Cool whip purchase, plus one other store q I cant remember, but it totalled $8. ( i learned the hard way that I need to total my qs in my head ahead of time, bc one they put them in the envelope or drawer,it's very hard to get them to get them back out when you have a question.) I went back in and asked to talk to a manager. he said there wasn't one on site. I said "Look, I don't want to be a b*tch and hold up all these people, but I figure you owe me about $8.00." His response, "well, the computer says they all scanned so I don't know what to do other than have you return ALL your items and we can go over it again."
RETURN ALL MY ITEMS AND SCAN THEM ALL AGAIN? Yes, that was his brilliant solution.
Forget it . I walked out and will never return. Three times i've shopped there and three times they've screwed up my qs. the ironic part was, the ones that screwed up their computer were their own store qs printed from their site!!!
Never again. Thanks for letting me vent.
