    Default No more Kmart doubles

I e-mailed them this morning to compliment my cashier from last night and also thanked them for running the doubles events. I just received an e-mail back that said there will be no more double events, and thanked me for being a customer. Just thought I'd share.

    No way!!!

K-Mart is struggling to stay afloat, and things like doubles draws more folks into the store, potentially to purchase more.

I suspected as much. I know that when I go to the doubles events, I very rarely purchase anything that isn't free or very cheap, meaning they are losing money on me (and probably most serious coupon shoppers).

I figured that the only reason they went ahead with the last one was because P&G already had their advertising ready to go in the coupon inserts (saying that Kmart was doubling).

What Kmart really needs to do is realize that their prices are NOT competitive with their competitors (Walmart and Target), and lower their regular prices.

Bummer though! It was good while it lasted!!

The only time I ever shop at Kmart is when they're doubling. And they haven't doubled in my area in quite a while. Oh well...

Same here. There are about 3 in the local area, and all are dirty, unkept, non air conditioned (in summer), dimly lit holes. No one ever shopping in there, except us few lonely couponers during doubles. Oh, there is one that is ALWAYS busy, but they are in a very run down, crime-ridden area....love that the kmart has no issue jacking up prices on people that cannot afford it, I don't go to that one, for oh so many reasons

I will not be sad when they shut down, as it seems inevitable. If you can't compete in this market & give the people what they want & need, too bad for you.

Unfortunately there won't be anymore doubles at all in this area if they were to continue with it, because they are all changing to just a regular Kmart store instead of Super Kmart. I don't really shop there that much anyway. I think their prices are too high, but I have been able to get some really good deals when they had the doubles.

My Kmart is not a Super, just a regular K, and they still did doubles most of the time.

Our K-Mart is jut a regular one, not a Super K, and the only time there seems to be significant traffic is during doubles events. Their prices and always much more than the local Target, Walmart, Family Dollar and Dollar General.

I too only shop at KMart during doubles events. They are way too expensive any other time. If they stop their doubles events all together I see a lot of KMart stores closing. They need to lower their every day prices to remain competitive in this market. Of course, if they run another doubles event count me in!!
