Default Big Lots and coupon policy?

Does anyone know Big Lots coupon policy? I recently purchased All Laundry detergent at Big Lots and tried to use a Mfg. coupon. The cashier told me that they do not take coupons because their prices are already so low. That was the first time I tried a coupon at Big Lots, so I was curious to know if this is true.

Wink Had same issue....

I had gone into Big Lots a few months ago and had asked if they accepted manufacture coupons and gotten the same response - that they dont accept coupons since their prices are already low.

Only thing I would advise, if its advertised on their weekly ad - take it to Walmart or Target and add match and then you can use your manufacture coupon as well!

Hope that helps!

Thanks. At least I know it wasn't just my cashier. I don't normally shop at Big Lots, but the All detergent I bought was about $1.50 less than Walmart or Target, so I still made out ahead even without my $1 Q. I don't think it was on their ad.

If I'm not mistaken, it's printed on their ad...they do not accept manufacturer's coupons.

My Walmart does not price match Big Lots because they do not considered it a competitor because it is a clearance store.

Join the "buzz club" and you will get a percentage off coupon every so often for your total purchase I believe, but no they do not take manufacturer's coupons.

Oh wow, that's a trip!

I haven't had any problems at my local Walmart. I did run into an issue where the cashier at my neighborhood Walmart wouldn't let me ad match the Dollar General ad for the $2 Bic disposable razors saying it was a 99 cents store. I went to customer service and got the store manager and advised him that Dollar General have items that are more than a dollar and the item I was trying to ad match was $2, so he told the cashier to do it. I used my $2 coupon for the razors and got them for free!

I thought that Lowes would accept manf. coupons but the 2 stores near me said they don't. They had the 32 ounce Glass Plus for 99 cents a bottle a few weeks ago and I wanted to use three 50 cents coupons for 3 bottles and they did not take the coupons. I know that 99 cents is a great deal but I wanted to make it even sweeter!

Lowes does take MQs. I had the same issue as you, I asked at the store and they told me "no". I wanted to know for future reference, as I was in need of softener salt and had just gotten the Morton's System Saver Qs. Lowes has a really good price on the stuff, and using the Qs makes it better. After I got home, sent corporate an e-mail, and sure enough, the reply is that they do accept MQs.

I'm wondering if because so few people probably redeem MQs there, that the cashiers are not always familiar with the policy and how to process them?

I was thinking that they should since the are nationwide and the biggest competitor for Home Depot but didn't press the matter since it was only 50 cents coupons. Thanks for the info for the next time!
