Default check your receipt!

After shopping at Walmart last week, I checked my receipt after I got home. I was over charged $1.02 for sunscreen. I was charged twice for one package of skewers - $ .97. OK, This was only $1.99! But if they do this several times a day at each of their stores . . . It was not worth my time or gas money to go back, but I did email the store (no response yet).
I will from now on watch the cashier like a hawk and check the receipt before I leave the store.

This happened to me at CVS the other day. It got me so angry! I went back a few times because she kept messing everything up and she got so angry at me. Oh well!

I always make sure I check my reciept before I leave the store, I'll just step aside on may way out and look it over, unless I watch the cashier ring up the sale carefully but sometimes with a toddler in tow that is impossible. It really only takes a minute but it saves the time of having to go back.

This happened to me a few weeks ago at Walmart with the Arm & Hammer magic erasers (I think that's what they are called). The shelf price was $2.49 (it was a 2-pack with a 3rd one free inside). I had a coupon buy one--get one free. I went to the self-serve checkout as the lines for the regular registers had at least 20 people in each one. When I scanned it, it scanned at $3.29. I brought it to the attention of the person assisting self-service and she got a manager. There was a sign saying that if an item scans for more than the shelf-price or advertised price (up t0 $4.00), you get it FREE!
The manager than over-rode it and gave me both of them free.

I am not sure if this is a company policy for Walmart and other stores or if this is just a Los Angeles or California law.

This has happened to me severeal times. I always count my coupons before i hand them over and then check the receipt to make sure the numbers match up. One time a cashier ( very rude one) charged me for FIVE huggies wash when I only bought three. Mind you she charged me the FULL price (ha like I would ever pay that). And a few of my coupons she didnt scan (the coupons were going to make the items free). I was not happy. So I called the store and spoke the very nice manager and explained what happened. So I went back to the Target, they gave me back the noney they overcharged me and a $3 apolagy coupon that never expires. I was happy :0)

So yesterday, I had 3 of the .20 Hunts Ketchup q's and cashier only rings up 2, and the double on the Van Camps Pork and Bean .30 only doubled .14 for a total of .44 the price of one can, but I had to buy three, shouldn't it have doubled a full price, and how do you approach "I gave you 3 coupons, not 2" after you have left the store?

We used to have that Policy in Missouri and Arkansas (I live on the line), but when we upgraded from WM to Super centers they quit honoring it, but it was for $3.

OP - Always pays(sometimes literally) to check your receipt(s).

This is an old(that I know of) Walmart policy which is if the price rings up wrong due to a pricing error you get the item free if it is under $3 or $3 off your total bill if the item is over three dollars?

Can check with your store(s) and see if they are still honoring it as some do & some do not.

Of course, in MI there is the scanner law so you are always protected there.
