Walmart and matching ads

Does Walmart happen to know what the competition will have on sale before the flyers come out? Ours seems to mark sale items down before the flyers come out??? Also since they match ads I have noticed that they seem to be out of the item until the sale for the competition is over then the shelves are full again. This week I planned to comp juice and salad dressing and they were out-the juice would have been 80 cents and the dressing free. One of the employess that knows I comp ads seemed to enjoy the fact I could not get the sale items and use my coupons to get a good deal. Others have noticed this too. They have stocked shelves one day and they are empty the next. This never usually happens since it is a small store in a small town.

Are they trying to not take losses on other stores ads????? We don't have a variety of places to shop close by so trying to comp ads saves us money.

It wouldn't suprise me if they are aware of what others will be having on sale in the future. Those ads are printed up weeks ahead of time. There are plenty of websites that show the ads ahead of time. I can think of one that has the next 2 weeks of ads for Walgreens up already. If they are not properly stocked ask for a raincheck of those items. Might be a little extra work but worth it in the end if you are getting a great deal.
