    Default Terrible Week at Meijer!

I don't see anything I need (at least at a decent price!). Looks like I'll be taking the week off.

There isn't a whole lot of coupon match ups for me... nor meat sales, Pooh! Oh well, my meat situation is on the OK side for a moment, I need H&B items and side dish type stuff more anyway. I realized I'm down to 1 bag of frozen veggies, so I'll get some Meijer this week.

I didn't see anything great in their ad either, but I am heading over there this afternoon to get some fruit and a few basics.

I bought one of the McCormick Grillmates (Montreal steak seasoning) that are on sale for $1. No coupon of any kind. I'm sure that the last time I bought one it cost only 25 or 30 cents after coupon. I also bought the 3-pack of Meijer facial tissue that's on sale for $2.99. Not that great a deal, especially because there are only 160 tissues per box, but we only had one small backup box of Kleenex Cool Touch in the supply closet.

^^ I could only wish the ground beef was $1.99 for us this week. I'd like to stock up on it. Maybe it'll be on sale for us next week, that's happened a few times.

I saw ground beef for 2.99 a # in the ad. Was it $1.99 at store level?
DH made me kinda upset on Fathers Day. I stocked up on Ground Angus when it was $1.87 during Memorial Day weekend. We only had 6 adults and 4 kids for dinner, but he INSISTED on thawing out three 2# packages, to make these gargantuan burgers that were too thick for everyone's likes....sigh. His argument was, "Well, babe, you have like 10 packages, using 3 is not going to hurt us" . TUH!! I beg to differ. 8 thick, dried out burgers are now sitting in the fridge waiting for me to repurpose them. I better do it tonight, as we they won't be good much longer.

Sometimes couponing and stockpiling gives people a false sense of security. Sometimes I feel it encourages waste....

Robin, make up a brown pan gravy with some sliced mushrooms or something and call it Salisbury Steak, LOL! If you let them simmer in the gravy, they'll soften up and not be so dry.

Sounds good! I also thought of maybe crumbling them down, and adding spaghetti sauce, peppers and mozzerella cheese to it, and bake/broil it for a few minutes. Like a noodleless spaghetti, or lasagna. My kids will eat that better than a salisbury steak. I love Salisbury steak though...
