Default Meijer stops taking paper Q's with Mperks!

    Offer Details*|*Meijer.com

My heart skipped a beat when I read this change in Meijer's coupon policy. I read this on their FB page and
had to investigate. They will not be accepting any paper q's with our MPerks any more.

My grocery shopping is done predominantly at Meijer's these days. I don't care much for Kroger or Wal-Mart.
The only other grocery stores we have close by are Aldi's and Save-a-lot. Well there's DG and Family Dollar but
they don't really count in my book.

    Any thoughts???

I'd encourage folks to submit feedback to Meijer on any of the changes that don't sit well with you. But do so respectfully and explain how this affects your decision to shop at Meijer vs another store. Comments can be sent in using their online form here. The more they hear from, the more likely they are to change them.

I sent a comment in tonight and within the hour got the response below back.

We appreciate you sharing your concerns with Meijer. I will give it to Meijer in that they've never sent me an automated response to any inquiry, complaint or compliment I've sent them.

We've forwarded your message in its entirety to the appropriate Meijer Team Member that handles concerns of this nature.

We want you to know that we take all customers concerns very seriously. Thank you for writing and for taking the time to help Meijer improve.

I have written at least 4 E-mails to Meijer over the years with both positive comments and negative complaints requesting a response and I have NEVER received one from them.
Well, our church food pantry will be getting a lot fewer donations now.

I guess this my que to raise my monthly budget and explore other options in my area. This adds to my frustration with couponing.... I was already in a slump. This just puts the nail in the coffin.

Not thrilled about this new policy but I don't see anything about not stacking MealBox Qs with MFQs or IPQs so I believe we still have that option. Also, what does everyone think about Meijer now accepting competitor's Qs? Locally I know that would include Target, Wags and sometimes Marsh and CVS. Still seems a bit vague though. If I have a Target store Q can I stack that with a MFQ or IPQ? Also the multiple transactions policy seems vague as well. How are they going to stop me from doing one transaction, going to my car, then returning for #2, rinse and repeat? I posted on their Facebook page, Twitter page and sent corporate an email. Not holding my breath for sure.

Updated Meijer Coupon Policy as of 4/15/2012
What is the Meijer store coupon policy?

As stated above, I would like more information (mainly for stacking) but think there are possibilities here: Meijer will accept coupons from major competitors in each store’s trading area, for Grocery and or for Health and Beauty Care items.

I just printed a MealBox Q and like always the following was printed below the Q: Meijer MealBox coupons can be combined with Manufacturer coupons. Only one Meijer MealBox and one Manufacturer coupon per item.

I'm liking the option of using a competitors store Q at Meijer if we can also stack a MQ with it, in essence the comp Q working like a Meijer store Q. If it works well, it would put a tick back in the positive column for Meijer. ::crossing fingers, eyes, legs, etc::

And yes, I'm still pleased that we'll be able to continue stacking MealBox Qs with MQs. I haven't totally written Meijer off. Just wanted them to know that it reduces the spread between them and their competitors.

I appreciate your positive thoughts LauraD, but for me it is difficult to try to keep up with all the rules and stipulations. I see a big mess brewing... All the stores are going to come up with their own interpretation of the policy similar to Walmart. I have to step back and reevaluate how I am shopping and rationlize if it is really worth all the time and effort....

I might just go back to shopping at 6 AM on Thursdays before work. Normally very few people are shopping at that time and can probably get away with multiple transactions.
