Default A bit frustrated with random store policies

So, I know what miejer corporate policy says online-no doubling, no expired coupons, no coupons on free items, etc etc.

However, I also know that individual stores do things differently on different things. And that is where the frustration comes in. It's very frustrating when the store's policy differs from their corporate policy and there's nothing written down to refer to to actually KNOW what store policy is.

I pretty much never argue with cashiers. It's not worth my time to discuss $1 mistake. I usually have the two young ones with me, they are usually getting crazy by check out time, and I knowingly and willingly pay that extra dollar or two, (and usually it's not even a dollar) just to be done with the whole thing.

But it's hard to know just how a deal will work out when your store's policy isn't the same as the corporate policy and you have nothing to refer to when trying to figure out if something is supposed to go through or not.

I see more cashier profiling in my future.

I am on the west side in Avon, and that's the store I usually use. In this case, it was a $1 off two pirogies coupon that she wouldn't let me use because of the free boxes with the sale. I know that the online corporate policy is to not allow that. And at my mom's store in Greenwood, they don't allow it. At my store they do, most of the time. In this case I could tell she was eyeing my binder (and seriously, I had six boxes of pirogies and 2 jars of sauerkraut, and 4 coupons, I wasn't even getting that much,) and eyeing the coupons in my hand before she rung me up. I could just see her making up her mind that she was going to win this one. She even felt it necessary to tell me to look at the monitor so that she could physically point to where it says "free item" to tell me that I couldn't use the coupon on the stuff that comes off as free.

I would go to self check out but my store's coupon system is messed up in those-the sensor in the coupon slots never work right. I am constantly having to blow into it and even then, I often have to wait for someone to come over and unlock it and then tell it the coupons are ok. I look like a doofus blowing into the coupon machine a million times, it takes twice as long and people behind me are always rolling their eyes and going to another lane, even after I tell them it will be a while and they line up behind me anyway.

I can't use coupons on B1G1 deals at Meijer either. If I wanted to use a $1/2 q for something that was B1G1, I would have to buy 4.

Default Blowing in the coupon slot...

This is the reason I hate SCO. It takes way longer with Qs, and it has made me late several times.

    I HATE SCO!!

I just rolled my eyes at her, took my coupon back, paid, thanked her and left. I just wish that the individual store would have that particular store's individual coupon policy somewhere accessible, when their story differs from their online available corporate policy, so that you can see exactly what your store allows and doesn't. It's tough when it's left up to the cashiers to interpret it.

    Mine was B2G1 so I "purchased 3". They were 2 for $4. So 6.00 - 2.00(freebie) - 1.00/2 (cpn) = 3 or 1.00 per box. Hope this makes sense!

Unfortunately that will never happen because they would have to run it through their legal department. So it is word of mouth only.. which means subject to the whim of the cashier and manager on duty 99% of the time. You could try pinning the manager down and getting their approval to say <managers name here> said your policy is <insert difference here>.
