    Default Overage

Confused about meijer's own policies.. Today went and got my chex and bugles , of course the sco screamed for the worker to manually approve them because of the penny (just like the chi chi's salsa). Well a week ago i went and stocked up for what im passing out for halloween . I had a ton of tearpad coupons for $1/2 wonka singles candies. THey had the spree's on clearance for $.30 each making it .40 MM for every coupon i used. So i get 50 of them , thought since meijer doesnt allow overage it'll just either yell or reduce them. Well instead the self check out spit 20.00 out at me. Was so surprised. I asked the lady she said If the machine did it , its mine. So i thought i just got lucky. Today i was in meijer and i have a ton of the $5.00 off any one coty distributed cologne product (peelies) they have the jovan womens on clearace for believe it or not $2.49, bought 15 minus tax and all i got $35.04 back in cash, the worker just had to manually approve the coupons as the value of the coupon was 3.00 but the full value scanned through and i got my overages in cash. Just curious as to why they say they dont give it to you , but yet they do? Or has anyone else gotten overages?

Count your blessings, dear... I have never, ever received ANY overage at Meijer.

I've gotten $$ back from the Uscan a few times, but never as much as you have. I'd do what mnm'z said and be happy you're at the end of the coupon rainbow there.

I got overage at Uscan once, I don't recall how much, but less than a dollar, and the cashier was mad! She took it away from me. I didn't really care, but she was rude about it and it's not my fault the machine spit money at me!

We don't have those store here. But with Walmart if I know there is going to be overage and I don't have other items to absorb it, I ask for a gift card for $5 or 10+ first. I get it large enough to cover the overage and then there is nothing to pay me back at the end. I know the policy says they will pay you back but it is much easier to me this way. I have never had one cashier to notice that I actually got the overage on a card, because I do it first and not at the end. It never crosses their mind again. They are usually like, wow, your total is just $2! And I pay them! They are happy and I am happier. Just not worth standing my ground to get the money if I can do this with less hassle and more smiles.
