Default Beware of new Meijer coupon software.

Always before Meijer has accepted slightly expired coupons. I was told at customer service that as long as the coupon is within a few weeks of expiring that they can accept it because there is a window within which they must submit them to the manufacturers. But those days are over. The Meijer I shop has installed new software that even beeped on the coupons I had that were expiring today! The cashier pushed them through, but let me know each one was almost a problem.

You're lucky they accepted them a little bit late... My Meijer hasn't taken them a day late for a loooooooong time.

Hasn't been a big deal for me since I don't try and use expired coupons anyway. Just figure there's a date on there for a reason and I follow it.

If the stores allows for it, no harm no foul.

ameeker - The Meijer I shop at does not take expired coupons at all. Never have as far as I know.

I never do it intentionally. However, on occasion I miss one of my expired's and end up pulling it to use. It always beeps and is denied, then I just pull another q and hand it over. I absolutely hate to be embarrassed, so I try hard not let this happen.

I go through the self-scan aisles at Meijer. Last time I was there it was very touch about my coupons and the woman had to enter a couple of my coupons manually. She was really nice about it. But she said there are a lot of people who are using counterfeit coupons so they have had to make their registers a lot more sensitive to coupons.
