Stupid self-check outs

The lines at Kroger were crazy this morning, so I decided to use the self-checkout for my two items. I try to protest these things as much as possible but couldn't justify it today. I bought some fingernail polish remover and Charmin toilet paper. I had a Q for $0.25/1 Charmin. When I scanned it, it said to give it to the cashier. She came over and scanned it for me. I noticed it didn't triple, so I asked her about it. She said because she had to override it (I have no idea why), it wouldn't triple. I ended up asking her to remove the toilet paper and only paid for the remover. This is one of the reasons I dislike these machines so much. If I would have waited in the long lines, it would have tripled without a problem.

I dont like those either.The ones at my albys doesnt take Q at all. The cashier has to come over and put them all through. So I guess the self check outs are for non coupon users????? Got me.

that's just fine with me! I'll gladly take a longer wait and deal with a live human over doing the work myself (which just irritates me to no end anyway. seriously. I'm already paying to shop there, now I gotta go to work, too??)

I am total opposite. I LOVE self checkout. I only use it at my local Ingles. I do this because I get annoyed the way the baggers bag my groceries...Okay so i'm picky, but I want cold stuff with cold stuff, cans NOT with my bread or buns, fruit and veggies NOT with my meat, ect. I am able to scan all my coupons myself other than free ones that the cashier has to enter the price. I shop during the day and there are usually only 2 lines open and both the daytime cashiers are soooo slow it drives me nuts.
On another note I DO NOT like the self checkout that I used traveling at a kroger, because I didn't like the lady taking my coupons and doing them at her little station. I followed her up there to make sure they were all taken off and she acted like she didn't like it. The few times I'm able to go to Kroger now I do just go through a regular line.

try going to Kroger at 7 am.... the store is not that busy and self checkout with coupons is pretty quick.
