Default Kroger Marketplace Holiday Bonus Redeem 12-1 thru 12-4

Not sure Kroger was offering this bonus in all markets, but I want to remind at least my Central Ohio Kroger shoppers to remember to redeem their Kroger Marketplace Holiday Bonus by 12-4.

Receive a $10 Holiday Bonus credit for each $100 spent on your Kroger card 10-16-11 thru 11-27-11. Can only be redeemed at a Kroger Marketplace. Good for home goods, bed and bath, office supplies, toys, and storage only.

I had earned a $50 bonus (spending is calculated before coupons minus doubling amount). I thought by going this morning right after I dropped the kids off at school, I would beat the rush. It was already packed! I do not know how they are going to have enough merchandise to last thru Sunday.

    In true form, I bought myself a gift. Electric Mattress Pad $67.49 - $50 bonus = $17.49.

    I also shopped for a friend who is not near a Marketplace. 2 Barbies $9.99 each and 1 Truck $10.99 - $30 Bonus = $1.03

I called my sister, who did not know anything about it, she has $70 to spend. I told her to go today!

It prints at the bottom of your receipt, before the fuel points (if you have those). It will say Marketplace Holiday Thank You Bonus. It may have stopped printing today (it has in the past), but receipts from last month should have your totals listed on the bottom of the receipt.

I am not sure if all areas have Marketplaces or not. Since Kroger is headquartered in Columbus, maybe that is why we have them here. I wonder if you drove to a Marketplace if your local spending would count?

I can say "I survived the Kroger Marketplace Holiday Bonus Debacle of 2011".

I am glad I went first thing on Thurday. Apparently Kroger was not prepared for how popular this promotion would be (they really need to hire me as a consultant). Anyway, I had to work yesterday. Two of my coworkers were not using their bonus because the Kroger Marketplace is too far. Since I have one close to home, they gave me their Kroger cards and off I went after work last night. I stopped at customer service, $30 on one card and $50 on the other. Great! Then it was off to shop.

It was like a swarm of locusts had flown down upon Kroger and picked it clean. Toys - gone. The only things left were a couple of puzzles, not even a Hotwheel car. There was not a towel or washcloth left in the Bath section. Rows and rows of empty shelves. No blankets, sheets, or pillows in the home section. Not a vacuum cleaner or a lint roller. More rows and rows of empty shelves. Office supplies held up a little better, but printer ink was not included. I ended up finding a few packages of king pillowcases and called it a day.

My cashier was on a 14 hour day with no end in sight. Every register was still open at 9 PM lines at all of them. Cashier said they were receiving 2 trucks last night but I have to work again today, so I figured by 9 PM tonight it would look the same.
