Thread: 10 for $10

    Default 10 for $10

This may be a dumb question or already answered somewhere, but I am new to this and have only ever shopped at Walmart.
Anyways we have a Brookshires and there is a Kroger not far and in their ads it says buy 10 for $10.

Do you have to buy 10 of that item or can you mix and match?

    Thank you
    V

Unless an ad says "must buy 10 to get the $1" price you can buy just 1 item and it will still be only $1 - I shop at Kroger all the time and have never had a problem with this.

In my experience - ads are written this way to get you to think you must buy more - so lets say it says 10 salad dressings for $10 - well that does not mean you have to buy 10 - it just means the price of each dressing is $1 - unless they specifically say YOU must BUY 10 to get the price.

Kroger does freq run sales that give you a discount if you buy certain quantities of items - like the ad will say "Must purchase X# of items to get discount"

When in doubt ask customer service counter.

A good ex. in VA this week" Buy 3 coke 12 pack products for $8 and you get 2 packs of Ritz crackers Free" - This is a specific ad telling you you must buy a certain quantity at a certain price to complete a deal.

As has already been said, at Kroger, 10 for $10 really only means that the items are $1 each. You don't have to buy any particular quantity to get that price. With BOGO sales, the items are actually just half price, so you don't have to get 2 of those either to get the benefit of the sale.

I imagine the pudding was Hunt's Snak Packs. There was a tearpad at my store a few weeks ago for free pudding when you buy a certain quantity of Chef Boyardee.
