AJC Newspaper Coupons

I've always been able to pick up the double paper with one of the AJC $1 off coupon until last week when I was informed that the coupon was only good for the single.

Any experiences on this? I'm wondering if there is an official word from the AJC themselves whether the coupon could be used on the double. The wording on the coupon is vague.

It's 2 of the same paper bundled together for 2.50 instead of just one for 2.00

Where do you get the $1 off Q - is it on the paper? I've never seen it in Suwanee.....

Walmart used to offer the paper for $1. I saw a stack last night but didn't see the $1 sign on them. I was too tired from rushing around getting all of the end-off week items, so I didn't check. May go back today to check. Need to go back for some items they were out of yesterday anyway.

I went to get some papers this a.m. and the Kroger would not accept the AJC internet printed coupon. First, they didn't even have any double wrapped papers. Then I got 2 seperate papers and the cashier could not scan the coupon and would not accept it. She checked with customer service and they said no. Then I said you took them a few weeks ago. But she said they are "cracking down on these coupons". She also said "participating Krogers"........... within the Atlanta area..........I live north of the city. But, I just was not happy to pay $4 for 2 papers. I guess I'll try to see if Publix will accept them next time.

Though I really like this coupon from the AJC , it is a poorly worded one to say the least. Having read it in the past ( I didn't print one this week due to being out of ink ) no where did I find that it said that it said one per paper and that doubles were exclued from this deal. I have been using them at Publix with no problem on the doubles.

I always have trouble with this Q. The cashiers have been nice and overide the register because they always beep and wont take it. I forgot that Publix takes Kroger Q's, do their registers have the same problem?

They should work on the double paper, I do it all the time since it does not specify on the coupon.

For the past few months I've been using the $1 AJC coupons to buy the double deals. I never buy the single newspapers. (I normally buy 2-8 newspapers per week, depending on how good the q's are) They've never said anything to me about it and the coupon doesnt say it excludes the double deal paper so I will continue to use it on the double deal. I have also used these q's at Publix as they take compeitor q's.

I always visit the same cashier and we joke about what has happened in the past with my using this coupon. Yes, they are poorly worded and the "at aprticipating Krogers" is perplexing.

Although it's perfectly legit, I don't feel right about using it at Publix. They won't be reimbursed for it. The store I shop at has great people who even applaud an overage. Unless the AJC has stipulated it be used only on the single papers, I don't see the problem with using it on the doubles. But then again, logic never seems to prevail when it comes to coupons. "They" always feel that they are being ripped off.

I may just write Kroger and see what vague reply I get. I'll post back their reply.
