    Default K-tastrophy

So, I hunted up all my "up to .99 coupons" for the K-mart double coupon event. I called to be sure the store was doubling, and it was with the "Shopyourway" card. I stopped at CS to see if I could use a store coupon with a manf coupon and was assured I could. So I shopped. Then the fun began. When I got to check out I was told the Shoppers card was freezing up the registers whenever they scanned them, and they'd been doing this for 3 days. So, coupons weren't doubling. And since the register wouldn't take the shoppers card, I wasn't able to stack store coupons with manf coupons either. (Ok, so after the first day, wouldn't you think they'd fix the problem?) Then my PG items were limiting to 2 per transaction. So I ended up having to have items deleted, rerung, coupons overidden. Finally got out of there after 45 minutes in line. So my friend that was with me starts checking her receipt in the car. They shorted her a double on her coupon. She wanted to forget it, but then I started second guessing my total. So we pulled over and I checked my receipt. Sure enough I'd been charged twice for shave cream that was supposed to be deleted and re-rung. Then I noticed 2 softsoaps that I thought were .99 each were rung at $2.79. So now we're back at the store again. Turns out the Softsoap shelf tags were shifted, and I picked up the wrong size. So I returned those and got the right size for .99. No biggie. Then after 5 minutes of trying to explain to the CS mgr about the shave cream, (along with the cashier who knew what she did), they told me to go get another shave cream because I'd paid for it. Uh what? I didn't have a coupon for a third one and I certainly wasn't going to pay full price for it just because they rang it up wrong. So I took a refund on that too. Still no biggie. What was really bizarre, was that the CS mgr., was really frazzled and couldn't understand what we were telling her, and she kept calling people to come help. Clearly she didn't belong in CS. All in all, it worked out, but what an ordeal. I did get a good deal on Cottonelle. After coupons and the sale I got 4 12 packs of double rolls (equals to 24 regular rolls) for $3.49 each. Works out to around .58 per 4 pack if they were regular rolls.

So...if you're planning a K-Mart trip this week, call ahead and see if they're having problems with the Shoppers card before you get to the checkout line!

Will they ever get this double coupon thing right at Kmart?

I don't even do it anymore. It is beyond frustrating to me. Back in the day, they doubled $2 coupons & we were able to score huge! But not so much anymore...

That's the last time I did it....I think it was last April or so. The store I went to was near my friend's house. They had a sign at the front door and at all of the registers advertising it with all of the rules. It was no problem at all.
The last time I tried it at my store, they didn't know about it and weren't sure if there was a limit, how much you had to spend, etc.
Not worth it to me if the employees do not know what's going on and management doesn't care to train the cashiers.
