jacobandevelyn - that jam sounds yummy and what an awesome price on Nectarines. Would you share the recipie? I'm a newbie at making jams.

    janni - happy belated b-day.

phil - just reading about all that work made me exhauted. You're getting a lot done. I'll bet it's going to be awesome when complete. I remember seeing what you did with the furniture. Incredible.

Yay I'm off tomorrow. I plan on doing a little shopping, a little canning, then find myself a little patch of sand on the springs or the river to relax with a book. It will be a week before I have another day off. Hope you all have a great day too.

Jan ~ SO very sorry about the arguments... and your b-day! DH and I argue a lot too, we are such different people I wonder sometimes how and why we fell in love. But, here we are. There are days I feel like we are such opposites we'll never agree on anything. However, we always do find something we like together it just takes a lot more looking. Maybe agree to consider each other's options depending on the style, look and durability... and like Evelyn said, if there is a repair to be done, tile would have to be torn up. Tile is also very cold in the winter, not just temp wise, but tile doesn't give that warm and inviting feel when it's 0º-10º outside... My ex and I did a tile in our bathroom and I'd never do it again. The tiles popped up and the grout was a pain in my bum!

Phil ~ moving right along... wish we could see pictures...

Lilmama and Doogie picked up that car and it overheated... there was no oil and no coolant in the car. They had it towed to a repair shop to be fixed and Doogie did some investigating. The guy only bought the car 4 days ago now so the title was still in the other owner's name and he called her. Come to find out, the guy rolled the odometer back by 100,000 miles, he bought the car from her for $525 and she told him it had a blown head gasket and the car was not really drivable. He screwed Lil mama and Doogie big time! On purpose! knowing they 'needed' the transportation because of a baby and such... What a piece of pooh he is. Doogie had been in contact with the guy (text only - guy wouldn't answer phone) asking for some of the money back and no way he said... Anyway, the other owner of the car thought this guy was a little shady looking and acting so when he test drove the car, she copied down his license plate and VIN#. Doogie has the guys name, address and all that info now and he's contacting the DA this morning. I don't know if anything will happen, but it IS fraud, especially since he rolled the odometer back. The lady owner offered to come down to GR and speak to the courts if necessary...

LOL! The guy thought he was free and clear, texting Doogie curse words and such... he even admitted in a text that he rolled the odometer back. He thought there was no way anything could be traced back to him. Doogie decided to lay out just 1 card... the guys name. He texts the guy back and said something then included the guys name. :O The guy called Doogie back immediately, LOL! Doogie was on the phone so he didn't answer it and that's the last I know... I hope Doogie is making the guy sweat it out...

Off to work shortly, it's a slow week. bummer!

    The book is OH.MY.GOODNESS!

Holy moly! That is flat out awful. I think he's sweating it now.. the consequences are fines and imprisonment. To do that to a young family with a baby... I hope he gets what's coming to him.

I'm new too! I just pureed the nectarines, added sugar, and made freezer jam. Freezer jam is so easy! And I think it tastes better. I bet it is because of the freezing rupturing the cell walls and letting out the flavor! I add the pureed strawberry after, as the color looked unappealing. Now it's so pretty

I hope to maybe have a nap today... being in bed at 12 am and up with DD at 3am and out of bed at 6am and being sore... I am still not "me" yet. But... I probably won't get a nap. Who am I kidding!

mnm'z- Karma is a bi*ch. I hope it bites that guy right on the butt.

Oh my goodness, it is a busy time on the farm. We are picking 2+ gallons of cukes a day. I've made pickles and relish...and more pickles today We picked blueberries yesterday at a u-pick, so I have to jam that today. I'm thinking freezer jam for the sake of time, but I sure like how that canned jam looks in a gift basket. Meat chickens have 6 days left until slaughter and we got 25 turkeys last Tuesday. Yeesh. You'd think farming IS my full time job.

    Have a wonderful Thursday everyone!

Oh my gosh, you'd think I'd know this, but I put in about 60 buttercup squash seeds...8 hills. Uh, can you say OVERLOAD? This is besides the 2 spaghetti squash hills, zillion pumpkins & (insert some number bigger than a zillion) cukes that we have.

More on the car saga... evidently this couple that owned the car went into their pole barn and realized the guy ended up stealing about $5,000 worth of their stuff. The stupe went and sold some of it at a pawn shop so they have his license # and finger print, LOL!. He already had a warrant for his arrest before all this. The police are trying to hunt him down... I don't think the kids will get their money back, but the guy's gonna be in trouble. The car is fixed, didn't quite understand what was wrong, but hopefully it's all that's wrong.

Jan - yes it's coming along well . In the home strech sorta . I had no idea the mail room even had a bathroom and I live here ! Lol

I'm kin of construction savy to an extent . My dad is a contractor , so I've learned some . I wouldn't lay tile down either , it chips and breaks easily as well, and can generally cost more than laminate . I got my laminate at andersons for .79/ sqft and the padding on eBay for about .15/sq ft ( lowes wanted .25-.50) and free shipping . Do I'll have laminate in the kitchen ,2 halls and living room for about 400 installed .

Mnmz - I'd have them possibly do a small claims case , eventually even when the guy gets his crap figured out they can garnish his wages , property and so on . I recent went into arbitraton with ford . I bought a 2012 focus in oct 2011 , had major electrical problems with the ambient lights and dash, was in the shop 6 times on that . Alternator went out, 3 months of having it. Drove it to Florida and the wheel barings wet bad , which was the last straw ( had all its warranties etc etc ) they wouldn't fix it as I was on " vacation" and said it was safe to drive back. I got in Tennessee and was crossing mt jelico , the wheel was nearly falling off . Long story shot ford had to buy the car back at full purchase price , pay my loan interest, and reimburse me on expenses/rentals . So now I'm back to driving my first car . 2001 colored Chevy Malibu, my brother hit a deer with it , it has over 200k on it and it STILL runs better than the other car .

This has been my worst week in almost 20 years in healthcare. State Survey started Monday.......with Federal inspection in tandem. They finally left this afternoon. We actually got a very good survey score but none of us on the "team" have been able to breathe or pee uninterrupted all week. I quit drinking cold turkey 25+ years ago but if I had a tea glass full of tequilla, I would drink it without so much as a lemon. DH is getting a steak tonight....he has barely had a glimpse of me all week and has been staying alive eating bologna sandwiches. Stress kills but 3 straight days of bologna has gotta do some damage.
