Congrats!!! I have a nook color too! Love it!!! I don't know anyone well with a nook so I haven't used the lending feature. It's my understanding that you can lend each book only once. My library doesn't have ebooks set up for lending but if yours does definatly check that out. There are tons of free books available to download just type free in the search box. Also they have a Free Friday book available each week. You can check it out on the Nook Blog. Angry Birds is addicting LOL. Have fun playing with it. I still have a lot more to learn but I very happy with my choice.

I absolutely love my Nook Color. It was by far the best gift my husband ever bought! As stated above, Free Book Friday is great because they usually give a book away that is around $9-10. Go to the search on the Nook and type in 0.00 and it will bring up the thousands of free books they offer. You can even break them down into categories such as mystery, romance, etc.. Also, if you have a store that offers fuel points when you buy gift cards (for me it is Giant Eagle or Kroger), you can buy yourself a Barnes and Noble gift card and add it to your Nook to get the points to save on gas. I usually buy myself a $25.00 card every month, since I know I will be purchasing books, I add it to my Nook, and that way I am still using my money to buy them but getting cheaper fuel in the process!
So far so good with Nook. I'm surprised at the $$ of nearly everything, especially the popular apps that I get free on my Droid. Maybe they are there -- just need to spend more time looking around. I looked at the library's ebooks. Lots, but, unfortunately, there's a long "hold" list on the latest novels. Oh well -- I'm patient.I'm looking forward to FREE Friday. I ended up downloading a "sale" book on Nook "Heart of the Matter" by Emily Giffin.
Good idea about the gift cards!
Please continue to share any helpful hints -- really appreciate it!!

Just got a kindlefire for mothers day and I know what you mean Mickkiab! They are so much fun. I just found an app (free) for my excercise routine.. tons of free books too! I notice a trend though.. if its a series they get you hooked on 1 or 2 free then make you pay for the rest of the series.. aurgh!
I have a B & Noble nook color, got it for x-mas a couple of years ago. I like it ok. I havent' download from the library nor I know how to use the lend books.. I'm still learning how to use it.![]()
