Stef ~ Not sure if you have an Aldi's near you, but there's a current thread about the produce some of our poster's are getting. Very nice prices!
I do and I have been shopping there! Their selection isn't the greatest though, so I've been doing Aldi's, Harry's Farmers Market (Whole Foods, basically), Kroger, Publix...

CQ ~ boys are harder to train. My son had issues at night until he was 11 or 12 and then he outgrew it. Sometimes it happens because of stress, he may be worried about this move, whether he'll have friends, you know ~ it's just scary. I'd not make as big a deal about it, find something to protect the bedding, and have an extra set of pj's handy. That way if he wakes up, he can change a pad on his bed (on top of sheet so not as much laundry) lay a new one down and get some fresh jammies on and go back to sleep. He needs to understand that some boys have a problem, but he needs to be a big boy and help out when he has an accident. My son never woke up. He'd sleep in it until I woke him up... Yuck! I was doing his sheets and comforter every single day because it just reaked. We had a liner so his mattress didn't get damaged, but still... that was a lot of laundry, I had 3 youngins...

    Hi all!

Started my new job as a flight nurse and I LOVE IT! Kind of intimidating knowing that it's you and 1 other person making decisions and treating a critically ill or injured patient. Many of the small hospitals don't have the resources or knowledge base for taking care of really sick people. Even many of their doctors haven't been exposed to some things for a long time or are out of practice doing procedures so they rely on us for it. I didn't realize how lucky I am living and working in a large regional medical center. Still picking up hours at the hospital but most time is spent flying. Biggest headache is getting licensed in 4 more states as we fly into CO, NE, TX and OK. WY, NM are next. My base is a 5 hr commute but I stay at post for several days, then come home for several. They have a house for the crews so I actually have a day or two of down time. Getting stuff done that I wouldn't normally take time to do like quilting, reading, studying, etc. since, when I'm home, the garden or housework usually takes priority. Coupon binder looks great!

While I was driving towards my base last Friday, I drove straight into a wall cloud with a funnel coming down. About 10 seconds later, my DIL called as I was heading her direction to stay with them for the night. She asked where I was and said there is a tornado right over you.....no kidding! Couldn't stop because I was on I-70....no place to pull over. Besides, it was coming straight at me....what to do? Since it wasn't all the way to the ground, I hit the gas and raced through. Luckily it only touched for a brief second and went back up. Think I needed an underwear change after that. I've lived in Kansas all my life and have seen many tornadoes. They definitely deserve respect and I never blow them off (no pun intended).

Had another storm at home a couple nights ago. No tornado but 70 mph winds, sort of an inland hurricane is what they call it. Still picking up the mess from that.

Started running again. Hoping to do a 1/2 marathon in the fall. Need to stay in shape as my flightsuit is totally unforgiving and shows every bump and bulge! Plus, the pilot has to know your weight for his manifest. Every 20 lbs alters the fuel requirements for the plane and chopper. I refuse to be kicked off because I'm too fat!

Home today, working at the hospital tonight so I need to get some things done.

    Have a great day everyone!

momofsix - congrats on the new job. How rewarding to be able to help people and make a living doing something you love. You must have an awesome day plannng system to keep up with family/house obligations with so much time away from home.

It's pretty yucky out today but I still did my morning/weekly routines. Todays was clean out the purse and car day. It's raining so I just did the inside of the car. I'm shooting for a very low spend month so I used our vacuum vs taking it to the car wash. When it stops raining I'll wash it at home too. DH is a little concerned about low spend that we won't be able to have fun. Are you kidding me! This is Florida ..... beaches, rivers, parks, free admission to some museums we have passes to the theme parks, fairs and festivals should be starting up soon. I gave him a couple of free starbucks coupons and the free coupons for the McDonalds drink in case of a will power emergency LOL. He likes to go out to eat so I may have to come up with "restaurant night" and set the dining room or another room up and play restaurant. Have a mini menu that he can choose from etc. We'll see. I'm on an 8 day stretch at work so it won't be for a couple of weeks. For the moment he's happily munching on muffins fresh out of the oven. One day at a time.

Thats why he just wears the goodnights. he never wakes up. Even if we wake him up at night, sometimes he makes it and sometimes he's already wet. We already have a mattress pad because the goodnights still dont always hold it. We switched from pullups when I realized they werent keeping him dry anymore. He outgrew them. DH had issues until he was 8 or 9, so I thought maybe its genetic. Then recently I have heard from you and one other person they can have issues until 12. So I guess its normal. My dumb stepmom made it out to be something bad, she kept saying 'well Sam never had any problems' (her son) gosh I can't stand her. lol

CQ.....I don't know about "hero"...crazy is probably closer!

One of my daughters had bedwetting issues until she was 8 or 9. Her dad and my mom had issues until then as well so there may be some genetic component to it. I just let her grow out of it. They sure don't need any chastising as it isn't controllable.

As for organization, I would say most of you all are as or more organized than me. I just don't share the fact that my house doesn't look like "Better Homes & Gardens" and I don't have little kids running around. My youngest is 20. If he can't take care of the house for a couple days, we have issues. He also doubles as my "pool boy". Since he is out of school for the summer, the pool is his 2nd job. He still works about 48 hrs a week at the hotel but I expect my pool to be clean and ready when I come home! As long as the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry are kept up, everything else can wait a day or two. My mother shared advice her aunt told her....Clean what smells first, everything else can wait!

I am not that organized. I really need to get with flylady or some type of daily routine because my Hubby sure doesn't want to come home to a messy home. And I don't want him to either. I want to be proud of my homemaking status if that's all I have for now.

I really don't chastise DS at all, neither does his dad. He didn't even use the toilet for #2 until he was 5. But I chalk that up to our family problems. I know he was just acting out. That poor boy has been through so much, seeing us fight and his dads behavior. DD is fine because she was either not born or too small to understand. I think Dh has had enough time to realize this, he tells me things are going to be different and I know they will be. Very excited to start a new life together.

Costco had a cuisinart ice cream maker for $23! My mom wouldnt buy it for me though, since I didn't have cash on me. Oh well.

Mnmz feel free to help me get started with flylady. I cant get email remonders because once I get online, I get sucked in and then waste hours of my day. I have visited her site before. How do I do the zones? do I need a small planner to write down my daily/weekly/monthly stuff?

Congrats MO6 ~ SO happy you love your job! It makes the time 'fly' hahahaha! couldn't resist.

CQ ~ He'll eventually outgrow it. I'm sure you're already doing everything possible.... FLYlady is awesome! I signed up for the emails and they do kind of blow up my inbox sometimes, but some I don't read... they're very insightful and I see myself in a lot of what she says. It's based on routine and there is even routine for the kids. I'd sign up for the emails, read as many as you can and see if it might help you. You can always opt out of the emails too if they become overwhelming.

I overslept this morning and only had 1/2 hr to get ready for work. Having 3 units today, I didn't have the option of starting later than 5 or I'd have been working til evening hours... anyway, 5 more units to go and I'm on vacation. WHOOPEE!
