Default Idiot Alert........it isn't always the cashier!!!

At Kroger, I found a box of instant potatoes on MS for .99, a mashed box......had a .55Q, YAY! At check out, I had a few Qs ready to go and was trying to zip my binder......it was being stubborn but finally did zip. All my Qs went thru nicely, except the potatoes....item not found. I'm searching my bags......sure it's in one of them. The VERY nice, very young male cashier said "Ma'am,I think it's in your book" Yep.....I had left the box on my binder and turned pages to find the Q. Always the smarta** I said "You got me, you caught the Tater". The whole front line was laughing, including me, but I was embarrassed to my toes all the same. Naturally, the cashier is a friend of my daughter so the story beat me home as she texted it to DH, DD24 and my Mother. Does America's Most Wanted still come on.......

LOL! When I was at Meijer a couple of weeks ago, they had a deal buy 4 Jello and get 1 strawberry for free. Everything was ringing in and no jello's left on the belt and my strawberries didn't come off. I tell Elvin (fav cashier), he takes the strawberries off for me, and after ringing in the bottles of soda... he finds the random box of jello. It had slid off the belt and was between the cash drawer and the belt. He rings in that box and off comes the strawberries. Egads! He gave me the extra discount anyway... I felt like a fool!

That's too funny!! Did anyone else catch her phrase "You got me, you caught the Tater"? That is from the comedy tour guy - Ron "tatersalad" White. If you haven't seen him, go to youtube and look it up, it's on there. He isn't as funny as the other guys on the blue collar comedy tour, but he has some good stuff.

Sometimes I'll put something on my binder for a second, then I think, "maybe I shouldn't do that, people might think I'm trying to steal the item." So I'll take it and either hold it or put in the basket.
