    It is gross and a little scary. I've used tampons for decades and so far have never seen any mold, though. I use O.B. which come in a clear wrapper, so if there were visual signs of something I'd see them right away. Right now I'll be cautious but am not too worried.

    Never used tampons, but am so glad I am past the age where I need to use that stuff. Yuck.

    I'm sure mold could grow easily on pads, however you could tell if they were moldy because they're visible when you put them on. Most tampons come in an opaque or solid color applicator. :/
