    Default Shelving question

I'm not really sure how to describe what I am trying to say other than the shelves kinda have dips and crevaces in them that make it hard for some items to stand up on straight. Does anybody have any inexpensive ideas for something to place over the shelf to give it a smooth surface? My hubby was thinking cardboard....

I use cardboard. Esp when I buy a 12ct case of Spaghettios or canned vegetables I just take the whole case into my cart, put it on the conveyor, then back into my cart, car, and house to carry and store. Much easier that way.

I just use pieces of cardboard or you could use the trays that canned goods are shipped to the stores on, I have some of those too. I have a wire basket under one of the shelves (tricky to get it attached, but I did it) for jello's, chocolate chips, packets of seasonings, etc.
