    Default My Calla Lilies

3 years ago, DD23 gave me a white Calla plant... she knew they are my absolute favorite flower. I'm not real good at keeping plants alive so I did the research online as to what I should do to keep it flourishing. I keep it in a container and the first year I had beautiful blooms and the tubers spread incredibly. The second year I had 10 tubers and I transplanted it and only got 1 bloom. I did have beautiful greenery though so I knew the plant was healthy and well, but putting all it's energy into foliage. This year I took her outside last week and gave her water and I had 3 sprouts right away, by yesterday I had 5 and now overnight I have 4 more. I am so thrilled that she's doing well and I'm hoping to have many blooms this year.

My BFF has flowers coming up already too and the funny thing is they tarred their driveway last fall but the flowers are pushing up through the tar.

No green thumb here either, but I am happy to report after killing many hydrangea bushes, last years hydrangea tree that I found on clearance lives! I hope the frost last night did not get her blooms though (along with my liliacs and apple trees).

Bear ~ An apple orchard just north of town was burning hay bales and using fans to keep the smoke in the trees to prevent frost from settling on the buds... we didn't quite get that low tho
