Yeah I definitely have more internet friends than those who live nearby. I've been gaming since I was 14 and I have some friends I met in those games that I'm still friends with 16 years later. Some I've met in person, one I married (lol!), and the rest are just people I chat with on the computer. And yeah, those who say they aren't "real" friends... they're so wrong!
