    Default To Atlanta area shoppers:

Where do you generally buy your ground beef? It's priced outrageously at Kroger and Publix, and I've been out of it for quite some time, but I'd really like to make some meatloaf. Do you know of a place that has it priced reasonably? How about other meats?

Stef, my household gets most of our meat at Wal-Mart. We look it over of corse, but so far it's all been good with good value.

Stef, Are you a member of one of the big warehouse clubs? I'm with on the price of hambuger, they are outrageous. I joined one a few weeks ago just for this reason. I got 90-10% ground beef at a decent price. My husband likes to buy things for the car there that he said were cheaper than paying full price at the stores. Of course, there is never coupons for that item. There is also other perks there that I will definately use. Not sure what I can post about these things so I am not being to specific.

No, I'm not a club member anymore. I used to be years ago but we never bought enough to make it worth it. How much did you pay per lb for 90/10, and where? How big of a package did you have to buy at that price?

Also thanks Nerdy, we were at WM today and I was able to pick up some ground beef, stew beef, Italian sausage, and ground turkey for cheaper than Publix/Kroger (except the stew beef - Publix apparently had that on sale this week so it was 9 cents cheaper there. But honestly the WM stuff looked better!) I still had to pay $3.10 for 85/15 which kind of burns me, but I guess it's the cheapest I'm going to find. :/

I pretty much buy all of my meat atone of the warehouse clubs. They have boneless skinless chicken breasts for 1.99/lb all the time, and their other meat prices are much better than the grocery stores. Whenever the meat is on sale at the grocery store, it is often because it is about to expire, and often the meat looks "suspect" so I just prefer to buy it there instead.

I would suggest trying Zaycon Foods. They sell meats and other products in bulk around the country and are very popular out here with couponers. I checked their website and they are available in 48 states, and seem to have alot of events in Georgia. They say the following about their products:

    Zaycon Foods is

    — high quality meats and fruits (& more)
    — fresh from the best farms in America
    — delivered direct by refrigerated truck
    — sold in quantity only by the case
    — at exceptional wholesale prices
    — with secure online ordering
    — and convenient local pickup
    — at one of our scheduled savings events

The up side is you can get high quality product very inexpensively, relative to the quality. The down side is you have to buy ALOT (40lbs is typical) so you need alot of room or someone to go in on it with you =D

Can you PM me the Georgia locations? When I go to the locations page I get a broken image. Also... unless I get an extra freezer like I've been wanting, there's no way I could buy in bulk.
