Hello from central IL! I just joined this morning, and am looking forward to getting to know people on this forum! I am an old lady (44!) and have 2 teenagers (believe me...they age you quickly! ), a husband, 1 dog, and about 7-8 cats. I am losing count on the cats! I love to do couponing and rebates, and absolutely love this site!

Hi all! My name is April and I live in Arkansas.
I am 37 years old and have been married for 18 years (yep - got married at 18! I'll kill my girls if they try that!) We have 2 awesome daughters ages 15 & 13. I am a SAHM and my DH is a teacher. Like so many others I am working hard to make each dollar count!
I just found couponmom this month and I am completely hooked! I so greatly appreciate all the wonderful folks on here and all the great tips we all share.
Thanks guys...this is really great!

Guess I never saw this sticky up here.
I'm Dyanna. I'm 26 years old and have been married since May 2007. We are the proud parents of a very demanding, needy, fat cat named Ally, a very loud Parakeet named Dolly and one rambunctious beagle mix named Hank. Although we have thought of changing his name to Shadow because he never leaves our side.
I met my DH online in early 2004. I was living in TX where I was born and raised. He lived in MI. After doing the online thing for a few months I flew to MI in Aug 04 to meet him, spent 10 days together, flew home and 3 weeks later packed up everything I could fit in my car and moved to MI.
I work for JcPenney as a visual supervisor. My team handles all displays, mannequins, graphics, department sets and so much more. I have been there 4 years and really enjoy it. It's one of the few 7-3 Mon-Fri retail jobs out there. When I am not couponing I enjoy reading, Sudoku, geocaching and baking. I LOVE baking and decorating cakes. I get a little better with each one. I use DH's co-workers as my guinea pigs.
I have always used Q's to an extent because I grew up watching my Mom use them. But I never used them like I do now until I saw Stephanie on Oprah. I am 100% addicted to the forums that it's beyond pathetic.
But I am enjoying every minute of it.

Well when I started at JCP 4 years ago in MI I got a job as a stock person but also worked with the visual team with I couldn't get enough hours on the stock team and the visual supervisor always commented on how great I was at it. So when we moved to KY, they had a spot on their visual team so I took it and was a visual associate until February of this year when I transferred to another store 25 miles away so that I could be promoted to visual supervisor. I still live 5 miles from my old store and commute each day.
I really enjoy it. It allows me to be creative and it's something new every day. I have no formal background or schooling in it though. Just what I've learned and taught myself here in the last 4 years.

Hi from GA
Hi. My name is Marie and I am 42 years old. I've been married for 10 years (been together for 16 years). My husband is 13 years older than me but acts much younger. We have two wonderfully funny children, a boy 10, and a girl 6.5 years (and a shih tzu, Bayley, who is just six months). The boy is definitely easier! He is totally in love with building Legos so if anyone knows of a good deal, please let me know. We live right by the Discover Mills Mall which has the only Lego store in Georgia. Unfortunely, they don't have many sales. My son just informed me he would like the Taj Mahal for Christmas. It cost $300.00! Unless Santa himself comes down our chimney, he won't be getting it. My girl loves fashion. Anything to do with hair or nails she wants. At least it is less expensive then the Legos! I work at a commercial bank and have been in banking for 20 years. Frankly, it's not that exciting but it helps pay the bills. I have never been a SAHM but would love to try it some day. Not in this economy! I'd probably never leave the house and would be 300 lbs. I am in a customer service position and do like helping people figuring out where all their money went.
I, too, am TOTALLY LOVING THIS WEBSITE. I have been using the couponmom system for numerous years (when I first started Stephanie's website was cutouthunger.org) but not to the extend I am now. I just cannot get off this forum. In fact, I have been reading all these posts for about 3 hours now (uh, do you think I should get some work done?!?) I am a pretty quite forum user so you don't see many posts from me. But, I love to laught at what you ladies write about and, of course, love all the great deals. My husband just laughs about my obsession to get items for free or near free. He says he is glad I am sticking to something since I tend to start something and never finish. I have been able to give so much to charity since the forum started! What a great feeling!
So that's about it. Except to say thank you to Stephanie, the Moderators, and all you ladies and gents out there!

No longer Lurking!
My name is Stephanie. I live in the great state of Michigan about 20 miles from Detroit. I work at the MGM Grand as a Dealer. I can deal any game with cards but my passion at work is dealing in the Poker room. (Texas hold'em mainly). I lived in Georgia, just south of Atlanta, during high school and came back to Michigan when I was 19... What was I thinking? (I hate snow and being cold
I've been lurking for a little over a month and I've learned a great deal from all the great posters in these forums.
I enjoy bowling (I have two 300 games ), playing No-limit Texas Hold'em, surfing the internet, being with friends, reading, golfing, watching TV, saving money and organizing my BB(Beautiful Binder).
Back in the day(more than 20 years ago), I used to help my mom with the Q cutting and shopping. I remember the first time I did the grocery shopping for the family all by myself. We scoured the sales papers, got the coupons ready and I headed out the door with the list, money, Q's, car keys (the most important part for a 16 year old) and headed down to the Big Star grocery store. I got everything on the list and did not go over budget. My mom was so proud of me. And I was proud of myself.
I had used coupons occasionaly as an adult, but when I saw Stephanie Nelson on Oprah, I got back into it. And I'm LOVING it!! I love keeping things organized and I've been pretty anal about my BB.
Well that's all for now. Talk to y'all soon!
Stephanie
