Default My turn, my turn

Hi All

My name is Kim (my mother is the only one that calls me Kimberly)I'm 38 and I am a single mom to a 2 1/2 yr old DD, I live in Massachusetts between Boston and Cape Cod, been here my entire life. Had a REALLY bad 2008, kick fiance out (DD father), lost my Father unexpectedly and lost my job. I have a background in Interior Design and Architecture and was working designing kitchens for the past 10 yrs. So now its a new year and a new perspective. I found Coupon Mom and stuck my toe in here and there but FINALLY took the leap, its only been a few weeks and its AMAZING (ok I have Irish in me, I get VERY dramatic) I am working on my "stockpile" and its coming along well. So right now I am a stay at home mom, looking for a job, potty training a 2 yr old and trying to get things organize (bought my Binder and LOVE it) Everyone has been great on here, its another outlet I have, because sometimes living with a 2 yr old gets to you....lol...but I love her with all my heart and wouldn't change a thing.

Hi All,
I am 26 yr old, married with a 2 yr old son. We live in VA now, just moved here from up north. So I am still getting used to the suburban life. I am always in search of a deal, but never used coupons too much, until now.

I always bough generic brands unless there was a good sale. Now, I come home with brand name food items, and pay less than what I did for the generics! And I have a stockpile without even trying too hard. I had to convert my linen closet into a pantry.

I look forward to sharing my shopping experiences with you all.

Just wanted to add, I hope to get to be half as good as you guys at this, I love the post in the success stories section, they give me such great ideas.

Wow... That was a lot of reading.

I have been on here for months and never formally introduced myself.

My name is Melissa. I am a SAH mom for 8 years. My dh and I have been together for about 8 yrs.(our second for both of us) We met on the job. Between the two of us we have 4 wonderful children. They range in age from 23 to 9. The girls are both 23. No, they are not twins one was his and one was mine, now they are ours. My sons are 20 and 9. Both the girls have made me a grandma. I have 4 grand babies all total. I still feel too young to be a Grammy but they are such a joy!

I used to spend a lot of time on another site who's purpose was to fulfill other peoples wishes(needs). But when the gas prices skyrocketed I didn't have the extra money to help anyone. One of the ladies on that site was able to help a lot of people with food and other items even though she too was on a tight budget. I asked her how she did it and she told me about coupon mom. Since then I have been able to save so much and still donate to local organizations. So... Thank you, to all of you for your advise and helpful tips. Whether you realize it or not you all make a difference.

Hi!

What a lot of great posts...it was wonderful reading up on all of the names you see posting here so frequently.

Here's my story: My name is Kathy. I'm married (13 yrs this July) with an 9 yr. old son & a 8 yr. old daughter who keep me on my toes! We also have a 120 lb Bernese Mountain dog named Cagney and a newly aquired rescued cat that's 2 yrs old who is named Amber....and, of course, rules over the dog. She is also currently blocking my computer screen as I type so if there are tons of typos, you can blame it on her...she's just too darn cute to move!

We live in Connecticut since 2006 but prior to that I spent my whole life in Montreal, Quebec. The move wasn't too drastic a change for us although I'm still getting used to the sayings/slang - took my a while to figure out what the heck "the town green" meant! Other than that, CT is a beautiful place and things are going well.

Currently I work from home (in Data Management for the pharma industry) but I believe that will come to an end soon (my company recently lost its contract effective Sept this year) and so I am here learning everything I can to prepare for the eventual reduction in income as I will probably become a SAHM after the job goes.

Other than obsessing over couponing ...and now these forums too - I volunteer and donate regularly at my local food pantry and I involve my family in that as well because I believe it is important for children - no matter what their situation - to know there are always others out there who are less fortunate. I'm running my 1st food drive at the kids' school the first week of May (for the pantry) so please send me some good vibes so that ends up being successful - the pantry is in dire need right now.

Everyone sharing their experience has been so helpful and I wanted to express how much I appreciate the guidance I have received here as well as the friendly interactions. All of you are fabulous and I will definitely be hanging around for a long time...

All the best to all of you,
Kathy

Default About Me

I've been with couponmom for a couple of months and just saw this link. I am originally from Cuba, but don't remember much, I was 4 years old when we left in 1967. I've been in Florida ever since. I am married with two lovely boys, 25 and 20. I work with my husband in his business during the day. On the weekends I am a lampwork artist (glass bead artist) at home and run a small internet business. I am hooked on coupons and love all the money I'm saving. I enjoy this forum and everyone in it. Such nice and real people!

Welcome to everybody that is new or sorta new or not new at all.

I reread this entire thread earlier today. It was neat to log back in and see some new introductions.

Smile Hi!

Hi!
Thank you for the warm welcome! I live a little North of Tampa on the west coast. I haven't shopped Publix lately. But, I do shop at Publix once in a while. Why do you ask about Publix? Any good deals? Talk to you soon.

Renee
