Default I couldn't sleep, just to excited!!

This started as a tradition of my family, when I was a baby. My grandparents are never around for Christmas. We have had Christmas the first full weekend of November since I was a month old. So today is my families Pretend Christmas Eve. I spent last night wrapping gifts, and getting ready to leave for the weekend. It is always at our summer cottage, where we have no running water, and our only source of heat is the wood burning stove. I would never change this tradition, for a million dollars. People have asked me if I regret the fact that my grandparents are never home for Christmas, and I always answer the same way. "I have never had them home for Christmas so I don't know any different." So bring on the Christmas Carols, Egg Nog, Turkey, and way, way, way to much wine.
Merry Pretend Christmas

OHHHH I love this. That is great. I always do Christmas a few weeks early with my parents. I fix dinner and we all get together for a few gifts. This way everybody doesn't have to fight over time with other family. I feel like the date doesn't matter, what matters is that you are spending quality time with the family that you love.

Merry Christmas to you!

That sounds wonderful! And whatever way your family is used to celebrating Christmas makes it very good for you. Just enjoy all the fun and being with your family.
