Default Am I being "Punked?"

I REALLY hate to have to call repair people to come to the house to fix things, and I think the universe is conspiring to teach me to get over it.

About a week ago, the electricity on our block went out for about 18 hours. There was a line that needed to be repaired, and of course it was in our back yard. So they had to bring in a Bobcat and dig up our back yard to fix the line.

It wasn't really a big deal to me, but they promised to send someone out to replace the grass that they had to dig up. Well...Today, two very nice fellas came over to lay the sod. Right after they started, our cable went out. They swore they didn't touch the cable, but it was right there laying exposed.

So I called the cable company, and they sent a guy out to fix the cable line. Everything seems good, and I'm back online.

But....

Now our landline phone isn't working! It seems that the cable guy damaged a phone line. So now I'm waiting for the phone repairman to come over.

I called my husband to ask if there was any possibility that the phone guy could break a water main. He assured me that the water main was on the other side of the house....like that matters.

Sheesh!

Well I don't think your being punked...but you can't fix one thing and not expect something else to break. Thats just how it works...for my house anyway.

Oh yeah...and this is after having my van break down yesterday and having to ride home with the tow-truck driver. I'm sure this has cured my phobia.

Default Too funny.

When I was very preggo with our youngest child I had this week where pretty much everything I touched broke, seriously the dishwasher, the garbage disposal, the washer and the dryer, the computer, the TV, my van, I even broke a toilet seat. And like a cherry on top, I locked my keys in the car like 3 times.

Based on my past experience, I think it would be in your best interest to not touch any of the large appliances in your house this week. So don't do any laundry, or run the vacuum or cook. Yeah, that's it, just sit around in the dark and wait for the parade of fix-it guys to finish up, and make dinner via Chinese carry-out.

Okay so the water main is on the other side of the house, but where oh where is that gas line? Septic tank?

LOL oh good grief! I certainly hope you don't have a in ground sprinkler system too. Our silly cable company sent out some mook a few years ago to bury the cable.... yep you guessed it... he cut right through our sprinkler system.

I was on him like a chicken on a june bug, and made him fix it. lol
