Default "Mom, you don't have a coupon for that!"

Last night, I was in the car with both my kids and my mom. My 4 yo DS was acting up, and I threatened to buy him something he doesn't like. I don't remember what it was. He bursts out with, "Mom, you don't have a Q for that!" My mom started rolling! She couldn't believe that I've already trained my kids that we don't buy something without a Q. That's right, I'm bringing them up right.

LOL that is too funny.
My 17 year old daughter came home from school the other day with an envelope and handed it too me. It was full of coupons, good ones. I asked her where she got them and she said one of her friends does coupons and decided to share with her. So I let her pick out some of my "good" Q's for an envie to take her friend in return. WOW I just didn't realize how much she's watching me. LOL

That's really funny. IT's truly amazing how much our kids pick up when we don't realize we're 'teaching' them.

Well you know how to get them to behave: threaten to buy things they don't like! Wave a coupon around for emphasis. lol

That's how I explain to DS (he's 3 1/2)that I'm not buying that sugary cereal or other treat he wants. I say 'we don't have a coupon for that'. Sometimes he even asks if I have a coupon first.

My kids are the same way. They'll ask me if I have a copuon for something that they want. My 11yr old wanted to buy 2 games for his XBOX ( with his bday $$) and luckily I had just printed the target q's for $10 wyb 2 games.

I was the same way as a child. I saw my mom clipping q's and I would try to imitate her. My grandmom still can recall an incident where I was clipping paper and told her I was clipping them for my mom. So yes, kids pick up on what you are doing. I am grateful my mom showed me the ropes at a early age!
