Default printer withdrawl.....

so I'm back on the forum ready to do some damage these next few weeks and the printer seems to spring a leak....solid black lines full of ink on the back of the page....after speaking with Canon (it just came off warranty 2 months ago) I decided to take it to a local repair shop where they said they could fix it for $120 however since I paid close to $400 for it I decided to have it fixed. Of course, there are now tons of coupons I want to print but I have no printer. I told the repairman its costing me money not to have a printer and he wanted to know what sort of work I did...I told him coupons He just didn't get it! LOL

I just got a new Epson printer (like 2 months ago), it runs out of ink friggin constantly. I haven't been able to print coupons in like a month. I am not sure this printer is efficient enough for printing coupons, I feel like I'm spending more money on replacement cartridges than I am saving with the coupons I print. Ive already gone through 2 black ink cartridges and all the color ones are almost empty. Maybe I should email Epson?

Well I am going to guess that you've done all the following that I am going to ask you, but just in case.....

Have you tried un-installing the printer software and re-installing it?

Did you check to see if the printer status is offline on your computer?

Are your printer cartridges compatible with the printer?....sometimes the refurbished/recycled ones create havoc on a printer even though they may say they will work...some HP printers are pretty finicky.

Can you go into your systems services file and see if the print spooler is started?

that is all I can think of right now.....maybe one of those will save you a repair cost....

If someone deleted the printer spooler even - it will not work. How do I know you ask...

Dh's pc was running loud constantly. Genius decides that he's going to delete the file that is making it run hard. Guess what it was.... yep, the spooler. Couldn't get it back on. So, I'm not able to print 2 sets of q's anymore. argh!

you may be able to do a system restore....but I would back up everything on an external hard drive first so you don't lose anything important.

one of the other things I've read to do is go to Start>Run> then type in sfc /scannow and have your operating system disc at hand. follow the commands on the screen....
