What is your child going to be for Halloween?

oh okay here is a really funny story
i have 2 boys (now 4 and 2)
when my oldest was getting readdy for halloween for his 2nd time i found a great nice and warm 18 mth loin costume
so my oldest went as a loin
2 years later i took that same loin costume and spent about 2 weeks durning the summer making the loin into a cheeta (i painted spots all over the fabric and cut off the main)
however we lost the costume so i had to quick make my youngest son a puppy
well this summer we found the costume and believe it or not that 18 mth costume fit my youngest who ussauly wears around a 3!
well on a wet and rainy day we took our kids across the street to a halloween party and my youngest got the costume wet and about a half an hour later i noticed that the paint was comming off!
so that costume got thrown away
well now both of my boys are going as thomas the tank
my oldest got his costume given to him by a neighbor and my youngest is wearing a thomas the tank winter pjs that were handed down from my oldest kid - so all we did was buy him a train hat.

My oldest DD is almost 12 and I've lost count of how many times she's been a princess. She did it again this year, prom gown, tiara and all. I also have a petite princesse. Last year, they were fairy princesses. You'd never know the little one is just as happy digging in the dirt all day. DS always wants to be something scary, but I don't allow them to wear gory costumes. He liked this years "Bubba" costume. He was a true hillbilly at the carnival.

I don't allow gory or scary costumes or decorations either. No devils or evil stuff. Just fun stuff.

ds 11 is going as a monster
ds 9 is ging as a niga
dd 7 is going as a brat
ds 4 is going as a phattom he whats to try to do everything is older brother do of course

i remember as a kid going as a princess or something else girly
getting all dressed up then being in MI - having to cover it up with a coat!

now as a mom i am all into warm costumes

i cant believe that some companies want u to spend at least $20 on some flimsy costume that will have to be covered by a coat!?!

Whenever I have a flimsy costume for the kids the temp outside will be 45 degrees. If I make some big heavy thing out of polartec, then it is sure to be 75 degrees. Love that Ohio weather.
