I am in Birmingham and find the B'ham news has the best coupons.
Also, I call the store ahead of time and ask if the take IP coupons. Saves me travel time and embarassment in line.
Keep shopping, it will get easier!

One of the best things you can do, is print off the coupon policy of the store you plan on going to and bringing it with you. If the policy says they take IP coupons, and the cashier refuses to scan them, then make him/her get some help to ring you up if. If the manager starts making up random rules on the spot, you have the policy right there. Woudln't hurt to have their corporate number written on the policy you printed out.

it really pays off too to look through on sundays of the papers you have to choose from...some dont carry all the inserts in my area...i actually get a cheaper paper now so i can get the redplum...usually on here there will be postings for coupon previews for the week before sunday so u can see what inserts you should be looking for, then u know when u find a paper that does have them all then u just stick with that...its worth the work one day to look through them since you may be buying more than one paper a week and it can add up so u might as wll get more for your money...and dont get discouraged it takes time to get in the swing of things...youwill learn alot by reading on the forums and just going and trying to do deals on your own. i have screwed up alot in the begginning and even still now i mess up a deal and i just go to customer service before i leave the store and return it..no big deal

Welcome. make sure you check the forum for the stores you will be shopping at before you go (if they're listed here). That way you can see what the experts are buying in your area of the country. It does get easier the longer you do this.

The only thing I would add to this is to talk to the customer service or manager before you shop and have the coupon policy with you. This way you aren't holding anyone else up in line etc. And don't be afraid to call thier corporate headquarters right there while you are in the store if you have to.Thankfully , I have great coupon friendly stores to deal with so I haven't had to do this, but there are others on here who have had to do this.

awesome thanks for all the feedback...i used some of my coupons at walmart the other day and saved ten dollars i was excited about that lol!!! i was just kind of testing the waters to make sure they would take them i am addicted now i cant wait to get more coupons lol!!!
