but now i am just about crying and boy do i have goose bumps!

i saw that ur in MI- we are about 30 miles away!!

boy i just heard the other day that because of there being so many kids sick that some schools have decided to close for a day !!

our kids have thier flu vactions already so that might provide some protections

i know that health workers (my mom being one ) have already gotten swine flue vacinations

but other wise wags have had lots of vactination messages out but i am not sure if those are just for flu or not - could check that out

please take care and my condolences are with u

That's why I'm waiting also. Got the regular flu shot. Just trying to wash my hands and use the purell a lot.

So so sorry smarch -

I called my Drs office today, they are out of the flu shots and she told me they will not be getting any for a long time, her exact words. They also charge for an office visit just to get the shot. So my employer handed out free flu shot flyers at WAGS so I guess I'll be getting one there.

My heart goes out to you and your Family, so sad - such a young life

Smarch, I am so sorry... It's unbelievable how many schools are closed due to illness around here. I think I heard this morning there are more than 50 schools that have more than 25% of their kids sick with the flu.

My prayers go out to you and your family. I'm not sure there is much to say, except I'm so sorry. And, to let her talk and cry. Most times it isn't what you say, but that you lend an ear. HTH And let her know that no matter when or where that you'll be there to listen. She's going to need to talk about it to help with grieving.

I'm very sorry about your nephew. 29 is far too young. I believe this flu is hard for people to understand how dangerous it is because of all the modern medicine we have. It just doesn't make sense that someone young and otherwise healthy would die from a flu bug. I'm sorry your family has to go through this.

I am so sorry for your loss.

My nephew (great-nephew, actually) also had it. He is 4, and it took less than a week for him to recover completely. It's amazing how the flu has different effect on different people.

Both my kids had it. DD was out of school for a week, but really mild symptoms. Just a slight sore throat, mild coughing, and low grade fever. Normal appetite and everything. DS was even more mild. It really does amaze me how it's going both extremes!

So sorry for your loss.
