Default Large food/h&b "donation" to DD at college

Today was a wonderful day. Parent/friend/family weekend up at DD's college. I've been stocking up all summer, getting lots of supplies ready to take up today. This morning, got up at 5:00 am, out the door an hour later, and up to college by 8:30 am. After the parent program, we met up with DD and were able to haul a LOT of supplies up to her tiny apartment. She was so excited, seeing as to how she's living off campus and has to keep her tiny kitchen stocked herself. Well, she should be good til nearly Thanksgiving with all the stuff we brought up, saving her a ton of money and easing her mind quite a bit on not having to work too many hours and still keep her grades up.

It really was a contented feeling for a mom to be able to provide for her dear daughter even though she's technically an adult now, living on her own, paying rent and managing her own life. Doing pretty darn well too I might add! With a tight budget due to the loss of a job, this was precious for us to be able to do this for her. AND, she'd saved some coupons for me that she'd gotten in her mail, proving that she understand the value of a hard-earned dollar.

Thank you Coupon Mom and all you forum members for helping me figure out great deals all these past months!

That's really great!! I'm also thankful for couponmom, as it has enabled me to help out my oldest son with nescessities. Even though our budget is tight...his is just as tight if not tighter. So now when I take him his clean laundry...he gets a bag of goodies to get him through.

jojo: What a wonderful feeling that is! I'm sure she's learning some life lessons right now that are going to make her appreciate you and all you do for her that much more. As a mom its also a great feeling knowing our kids have the basic things they need and don't have to go without. Good job mom!

That's so wonderful you're able to do that for her. I'm sure she is very grateful. I was just talking with my co-workers the other day about the same thing; although my DS's aren't in college yet.
