I am always fighting them here in S. Fla. They seem to have come in my pasta, and I had bought a lot on BOGO. Maybe it was stored too long? Now I am afraid to buy when on sale, but I have heard if you put in fridge for at least 24 hrs. it will kill any that come home from store w/you-then seal in plastic.Anyone know if this works?

LOL. Quit being wussies! I won't tell you how many bugs/spiders you eat in a year. Do you eat chicken eggs? These eggs are too small to be sifted. If it bothers you just freeze your flour/pastas for 3-4 days and store them long term in sealed glass/metal/plastic containers. Your empty PB jars work great for this.

I think we had the "confused flour beetle"

I'll admit there is a size difference, but (biologically) an egg is an egg . I like biscuits n gravy too much to worry about it.

DH just throws a fit when I cook rice because he is from farm country and worked in the rice fields and grain bins. He has cleaned out the grain bins (and they DON'T do it very OFTEN!). He just tells me honey I'm just protecting us. I don't like rice very much so I don't mind.

Are these beetles the same as weavels?

hey with all the talk of throwing things out thinking that the bugs came from this item

dont forget our CS friends at those companies

(i once brought some cake mix at an outlet store and upon opening an baking it found out the little black specks were bugs not a spice. OMG was i glad that no one ate any of it - turns out that all the packages had bugs in them - called CS and the sent me out Q for free product)
