We are having the same problems and the only way was for us to get professional treatment. You may be surprised at some of the good deals out there. We just got our yearly treatment for $200, some may think that is high but that is half of what we paid 2 years ago.

I have not found anything to get rid of them here in Florida.

Default Ants

We have an ant problem at times and found that Terro Ant Killer works great. It comes in a small bottle and you put a dime sized drop on a piece of thin cardboard that they supply. Within a day or so they eat the poison, carry it back to the others and end of problem. I think that hubby buys it at Home Depot. But you probably could look online to see where you can purchase it. It's really cheap and the bottle will last for years. The package is orange and says ANT KILLER across the front.

Agree with Scribbler.

Terro.

We find ours at Ace Hardware. It works awesome - just put it the ants "line" of walking, they will eat it like an all chocolate buffet, and carry it back to the swarm. A couple of times of eating will eliminate your ant issue.

I used a product that I bought from Do it Yourself Pest Control. I can't remember the name but they are very helpful on the phone. They are located here in Atlanta but ship everywhere!

Terro Ant Killer can be found in Walgreens. I use it as well when they come into our rooms, but along with this you can use Ortho Home Defense Max (home depot) and spray it around the outdoor perimeter of your home. It's really good. I have the same issue so good luck.

there are somethings sold at chemical companies that farmers use. some are expensive but get rid of ant, spiders, etc. one is regent, it is $545 a gallon, so normally not a good choice unless you can find someone who will sell it by the ounce because you dont need much. another thing is called wisdom it comes in a powder/granule form and sold in bags. it cost about $14/15 a bag.

these things work. i had sugar ants coming in my house all the time, same time every year. we sprayed our yard and around the house and i havent had ants or spiders in my house for two years. the regent will even rid our yard of fire ants. it is some good stuff.

Terro!! It can also be purchased at Lowes and they also sell it in plastic bait containers so that you don't have to put liquid loose anywhere.

The only success we ever had with regular bait traps (of other brands) was to put it in an old jar that has a lid. Trap the ants inside for a little bit of time and then release the ants. That helped.
