Default coupon burn out!

I have got to find a way to get thru this coupon burn out! Last week when they had all the deals with frys and Albertsons. I stayed up for hours getting my coupons organized to go to the store and get all my cheap and free stuff. Most of it I already have as stock but I mean it is so hard to pass up. i was throwing a party for my husband and woke up late the next day so decided to just go and get what I needed and do cheap and free the day after his party.. Well I never got around to it and new that since July 4th was just around the corner they would probably have the same deals if not better. So I waited and sure enough. but here it is Tuesday and I have not gone..I am even wondering if I want to..man I would have jumped at this 6 months ago. But for the most part I have all this stuff. I also dont have a ton of extra cash to be spending. So I am questioning. Do I just go and do it or not?
I hate for these q's to go to waiste.I was also thinking maybe just going and doing one set of 10 items. the mix and match and whatever else iseee that I really need.Which as far as stock goes not much..My sister could also use it..But again not a ton of money...So what your opinion. Just let it go for now..or go get a few things..i am just burnt out!

well what do have the most of... time, energy or money? I say just do it! if you already have the clipping and sorting done. I don't know your situation, if you work, have kids driving you up the wall, if your depressed? So you don't get the rush anymore when you get the great deals? You can always donate the items or the q's. I think we all go through this sometimes.

I think if you don't feel energized by the prospect of shopping for the deals, and really don't need any of the items, maybe it would be best to take a week off or just go for a few items? I know that I tend to get re-energized when I get a few good deals, so maybe if you went to the store to get 10 items, maybe by the time you go back to the car you will want to head back later. Or make a game with yourself to see how many items you can get for $10 or $20, and then donate what you can't use to your sister. Sometimes changing it up a little or challenging yourself will get the energy flowing again. Good luck! Let us know what you decide to do.

i have been going through this alot too and i wrestle with myself like im going to be upset if i dont do it and sometimes i blow it off altogether and sometimes i just go and do it...like you said six months ago this wouldnt of even crossed my mind to skip free and cheap deals, but as with anything after you get used to getting things so cheap all the time its not as thrilling as the first couple months...even now i dont chase every cvs deal i go there once every couple weeks now when before i was there a couple times a week at least...i think it goes in waves...after you have been couponing for a while you see the coupons that regularly come out and the sales your grocery store usually has so it seems if i skip it there will be the same exact thing going on in a month or two anyways....but the big fear is....what if this is the last sale!!!????? i just run out of time also to really chase the deals but then every couple weeks ill take a sunday and go browse coupon shopping at all the different stores and i think that revives me(and cleans out alot of coupons!) if i were you i would just go and get them since you already have the coupons pulled for it...just to have to put them all back is annoying to me so i would go use them up lol and i think everyone gets in the rut eventually till that one sale or weird coupon comes out then it sparks up the thrill of it all again

Yeah just so you know I have been doing heavy q'ing for over 10 yrs now. Once in a while I go MONTHS without buying a paper. This is usually due to some kind of extraordinary stress or depression though. And I go short periods where I buy the papers but don't clip or shop for a few weeks.

Jillynoodle, you are so right. 6 months ago I would never have dreamed of skipping a deal. Now unless any H&B items or food items are free I don't get too excited about them. I still donate, but at the moment don't have the organizational system to stockpile (just moved to a new house) so I can't be crazy about buying too much anymore. I used to be so excited about the Free after Rebate items at Wags for example, and now I have not set foot in that store for months since they discontinued that program, I can't be bothered with the free after RR stuff anymore, too much hassle.

If you need the items, go ahead and shop and buy them if you will definitely use them and they are at a low price point, otherwise skip it this week, even if you pulled your coupons.

I feel your pain! I have skipped a lot of deals lately. I don't know if it is lack of energy or just tired of seeing the same deals.
I use to have my q's clipped and sorted by Monday afternoon. Now, I am lucky if they are clipped for Wednesday sales (which is only making it harder to get ready for a sale). I often made several trips to Walgreens a week. I haven't been in two weeks. I even cleaned out my storage and made a large donation in hopes of getting my mojo back.
Right now with my son out of school and the stress of my mom being sick I have decided my piece of mind is more important than one more free box of Kellogg's. I do have to admit I feel guilty for passing on anything free. I know the church food bank could use it.

For now I will do what I can and not stress myself. I am sure I will find my mojo soon.

I have taken serious (serious look) note of what's in my stockpile. I'm adjusting my couponing to match. For instance, if I have enough shampoo to last 6 months and there is shampoo which I would get for free or close to free, then why do I have 10 coupons for it? In other words, why am I stockpiling coupons? Because while I was building my stockpile I needed all those coupons. But now I'm going to start cutting down on how many I have. This will save me time in filing and shopping. I can also redirect time and funds to other things instead of spending it getting free shampoo. When the stockpile starts to run low then I'll collect more coupons. And yes, I can still fit in donating.
