!!! And this is not a big city rate! She is getting a bargain, I hope she appreciates you. I'm glad you are getting an additional $40 per week...you are still working for peanuts, but I can see it from both sides...$140/week is still a lot of money to dish out, it's hard!!Hey, teach her how to coupon and maybe you can get another raise???

I am glad you spoke up for yourself. I had a daycare in my home many years ago. I quickly found that not every parent values their childcare provider as much as they should, and that's a shame. I work in an office now and my kids are grown, but if I had a child in daycare, especially a home daycare, I would treasure that person. As for pay rates, it really seems to be a regional thing. But you should definitely be paid at least the going rate. You may want to see if your community has an association for daycare providers. It would probably be helpful to network with other providers in your area.

Thanks for clarifying, I was thinking the same thing "they make good money, but she qualifies for WIC" something wasn't adding up. Good to hear you got a raise |
