Bricks and mortar stores have to pay staff to assist customers with purchases & questions in addition to paying the rent/lease space for the store. When you order online you are only interacting with the warehouse employees. I work for a retailer who also offers slamming deals online that differ from the store so I understand where your confusion and frustration come from. To put it in perspective: when and if you decide to purchase from your local store: your purchase tax moneys support your city and state and the overall money spent locally feeds your local economy and keeps the cycle turning for your area. Because of how business laws are currently structured ,this also counts if your stores special order for you. Ask the stores that you shop with if there are ways for you to get a comparable deal so that you can keep your money local rather than sending it elsewhere (ie. through coupons, rewards cards or memberships). I know my stores will bend over backward and try everything outside of breaking company policy to turn things around for our customers. Good luck to you!
