So-- I was cleaning out my cabinets and broke all 5 of my pyrex bar pans--- i was scooting a pan over on the counter and then I heard this huge shattering of glass- I knowcked them right off the counter. so- my question is- can I use my crock pot ceramic insert in the OVEN?? I was going to make homemade scalloped potatoes for Easter Sunday-- and that is my only option to do it in-- please help--- the temp of the oven will be 350

I am so sorry that this happened to you! Could you borrow a baking dish for this week-end or just run out and buy one to use Sunday. Then replace others as you see sales or yard sales?

We are overseas right now in Japan-- I went and looked off base for one- but the Japanese dishes are just too small for my "american" size cooking. And all my neighbors are using there this weekend. I also went to our BX and they were all out- go figure- I have my oven safe pans I could use. It will only be my kids and I this year for Easter since my husband is deployed- so I will just use my big 14 wide and 3 inch deep skillet to cook them in.

I PMd you a link... for a recipe for slow cooked scalloped potatoes.

but my suggestion is to just use the slow cooker to bake the potatoes instead.

Wow! I'm imagining the crash. That must have scared the pants off your neighbors too.

Did ya'll know that the Space Shuttle windshield is made from Pyrex? I learned that on discovery channel. Just a little extra useless knowledge for ya

Do you have a tinfoil pan? You can cook in it. You know, the throw away kind.
